For
the second time in two weeks, Bob and Tom got out their checkbooks for
charity and headed to the links for the second installment of the "Bob
Kevoian Hole in One Challenge." This time however, they brought
along PGA touring pro and Masters champion, Fuzzy Zoeller. After
giving over $8,000 in the first edition of this event, the real challenge
was to raise even more money this time around.

Just as before, every shot taken was worth a $25 donation to The
Children's Hospital Foundation which benefits the Kosair Children's
Hospital In Louisville, KY. There was also an added bonus of $5,000
if either golfer could sink a hole-in-one.
Bob and Fuzzy took their places in the tee box on the 14th hole of The
Fort Golf Course, 150 yards away from the pin. Each man used personalized
Srixon golf balls provided for this charitable occasion. Fuzzy hit his
regular FUZ initialed golf balls, while Bob stroked his new, blue BOB
balls.
Fuzzy hit the green and near the pin almost every shot. One in particular
landed within 3 1/2 ft of the pin. This prompted a spectator to offer
$200 to charity if either Bob or Fuzzy could stick one even closer to
the hole during the next on-air segment.
The side challenge didn't go unanswered. Fuzzy quickly fired a shot
within two feet of the hole, earning even more money for the kids. This,
however, was just a warm up for what came next. Before returning from
a commercial break, Fuzzy pulled Bob aside and told him he felt like
the hole in one was on the way.
He was right.

Swinging the 81st
shot of the morning, having already earned the Children's Hospital Foundation
over $2,000, Fuzzy sank an ace. In a somewhat delayed reaction, the
crowd went wild when they realized what had just occurred. The crew
on the green, along with official distance reporter, Chick McGee, waved
their arms and jumped around signifying that the challenge had been
met and $5,000 was added to the charity total.
The competition was far from over. The assembly of fans gathered around
the golfers still wanted to see if Bob could hit his hole in one. Bob
didn't get his coveted ace, but he did earn an extra $1,000 for charity
by landing a ball closer than Fuzzy's with the show coming to a close.
Producer Dean Metcalf made his final tallies and announced that a total
of 180 balls had been hit which added up to $4,500. All together over
$13,000 was raised for The Children's Hospital Foundation.
Factoid - Before this hole in one... Fuzzy had previously
hit 14 aces.
Factoid - We learned that the exact colors of Bob's Golf shoes
are Khaki and Pearl.
