Don't
Look Now, It's Rodney Carrington
If you don’t watch TV or regularly
listen to the BOB&TOM Show, then chances are you haven’t
heard that good friend of the show Rodney
Carrington has is own sitcom, Rodney.
For everyone else, this is old news. And though Rodney’s
now a big time TV star, he is still finding time to head
out on the road and perform his standup comedy, which includes
all the jokes and music he can’t get past the FCC.
Along with making frequent stops to sold out comedy clubs,
Carrington is also popping up all over the place on TV to
promote his show which has seen a steady climb in the ratings.
Rodney will be appearing on upcoming episodes of The
View, ESPN2’s Cold
Pizza, and Good
Morning America.
FACTOID – An
upcoming episode of Rodney,
titled "Hell Week," was written by comedian
Mark Gross, who also happens to be the opening act
for all of Rodney’s live shows.
FACTOID – Rodney
got his first record deal after he
was heard performing the song Fred
on the BOB&TOM Show

Steve 'Ain't' White
Don’t let the name fool you, comedian Steve
White is actually an African American. This must confuse quite
a few people because Steve picked SteveAintWhite.com as
his web site domain name. Steve has been featured on The
Oprah Winfrey Show and Evening at the Improv and
has guest stared on ABC’s Hanging with Mr.
Cooper and the film Coming To America with
Eddy Murphy.

He's
Gross
He may look more like a substitute teacher than a standup
comedian, but when Mark
Gross hits the stage you soon find out that when it comes
to comedy nothing is off limits, and no one is safe. Gross
has been seen on the Tonight Show and
has been featured on Comedy Central’s Premium
Blend, but Mark's been known to work behind the scenes
in Hollywood too. He was a long time writer for the late night
talk show Politically Incorrect,
and is currently writing for the ABC sitcom Rodney,
starring Rodney Carrington. If you live in the De Moines, IA
area, make sure you catch Mark performing his standup this
weekend because his Friday and Saturday shows are being taped
for use on his next live comedy album which will be available
in early May.

Lord of the Pompadour
The last few times comedian Lord
Carrett has stopped by, he's brought a couple of unexpected visuals
with him, which can still be seen on his pompadour
page. First there was the Tompadour, which demonstrated what Tommy
G. would look like with Lord's hair. This was soon followed by the equally
exciting Bobpadour. Now, just when we thought we'd seen it all, Lord
Carrett tells us that he's ready to unveil his latest creation, the Chickpadour.
Though Lord spends hours working on his immaculately cared for hair,
he does find time to write and perform standup comedy. He's also ready
to release a brand new live comedy album, Lord
Carrett: Unsweetened, which will be available in March.
FACTOID -
Lord Carrett's new CD is truly a live recording. His album
is a live performance with only one take and no editing.

The BOB&TOM Monster Truck
Bob & Tom have had a lot of great honors bestowed upon them over
the years, but nothing in the past could possibly compare with debut
of the BOB&TOM Monster Truck. The truck, piloted by veteran driver Guy
Wood, will make its first appearance this Saturday at the RCA Dome
in Indianapolis during The USHRA Monster Jam. Wood has been racing Monster
Trucks for over 15 years and is the creator and driver of two of the
sport's most famous competitors, BULLDOZER and
BEARFOOT.
FACTOID – At
one point Guy Wood held the world record for longest Monster
Truck jump.

From
P.E. to Comedy
Reno
Collier began his career headed down the same
path that most standup comedians find themselves
on, the road to becoming an elementary school PE
teacher. That road took an interesting detour when
Reno came to the realization that teachers aren't
normally among the top wage earners in America. To
supplement his meager income, Collier decided his
best bet was to become a part-time bartender at the
local comedy club. This move got him more than a
little extra spending money when one fateful open
mic night he took a chance and came out from behind
the bar to try his hand at comedy. It didn’t
take long for Reno to permanently hang up his whistle
and retire his gym shorts. In just a short amount
of time as a standup comedian, Reno has really elevated
his career. He recently filmed a Comedy Central special
with Henry Phillips and is currently touring with
fellow comedian, Larry the Cable Guy.

Comedy
Notes
From the Road
Comedian Mike
Birbiglia quickly became one of our favorite new comedians when he
made his rookie appearance on the show last year. Since then, he’s
been featured on the new BOB&TOM album Sideshow and
has been invited to join us on our annual Bahamas Super Bowl trip. Things
couldn’t be going any better right? When Mike first found out he
was one of the comics competing in Comedy
Central’s Stand Up Showdown online poll, he’s noticed
that he was ranked behind a man with a puppet. Luckily Birbig's fans
got out the vote and helped him move into the top 10. Now that this ordeal
has passed, Mike can get back to doing what he loves most, taking down
the notes of his travels in his cheap little notebook, some of which
we hope he'll share when he calls in.
FACTOID -
According to the bobandtom.com web team, Mike Birbiglia has
one of the best websites we've ever linked to.

Angry
Jake
We don’t know much about standup comedian Jake
Iannarino other than he looks really angry, and maybe even a little
aggressive on the front page of his website. However, we’ve been
assured that he’s actually a really funny guy, and that’s
a good enough endorsement to get him on the show. Jake is a veteran of
acting, improv and standup comedy. His act has been featured (and enjoyed)
in comedy clubs across the country and he’s appeared in the Rob
Schneider films The Animal and The
Hot Chick. Jake also stays busy as a member of a nationally touring
improvisational comedy troupe.

Well
Thank You
Very Much
Tim
Bedore has been on a hot streak lately with his weekly Vague
But True editorials, which is why we're so
eager to find out what his next installment will be about. Over the past
year, these musings have helped us learn a lot about Tim, including his
predictions on the upcoming year, the joy he finds in defacing SkyMall
magazines, an odd dream he had about Bea Arthur and his theory on how
animals are trying to wipe out our species. But no matter what the topic,
we're sure he'll be seated comfortable in his squeaky chair, delivering
his thoughts live from his dining room in LA.

The
NFL Song -
Bye Week Edition
The stage is set for the final game of the season
and it will be the NFC Champion Eagles squaring off against the AFC Champion
Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX. However, that won't be happening this weekend.
The NFL has once again chosen to place an extra week before the big game
which means the only football action we're going to get is Duke
Tumatoe's weekly NFL
Song. Not that this is a bad thing. Duke's
got an entire season of information to put into this week's song, including
two championship games that were decided in he first quarter. Big Ben
earned his first loss after going head to head with Bill Belichick, and
Donovan McNabb's Eagles have finally made it to the Super Bowl after
three straight loses in the championship game. Now the big question is,
can Philly turn their momentum (with or without T.O.) into
one more victory, or will the defending champs get their third title
in four years?

The World's Worst Traveler
After a couple of auto accidents,
a speeding ticket and a plane ride from hell, our good buddy Pat
Godwin is wondering what the rest of this year has in store
for him. It’s been a rough five-week run on the road
for Pat, who isn’t the world’s greatest traveler
anyway. From losing his keys, phone and wallet (on more than
one occasion), to his multiple trips to the emergency room,
Godwin’s proven that sometimes you’d be better
off by never leaving the house. It’s true that we feel
bad for the guy, but that doesn’t mean we won’t
find great pleasure in hearing about his misadventures when
he stops by the studio. Godwin has been featured on the past
four B&T albums and rumor has it that he may begin production
on his next project very soon.

tunes from previous visits, check out the Pat

Can
He Do It Again?
It's time again for that fabulous
feature, The Zany Report, as
brought to you each week by Bob
Zany. Last week, Bob put together a solid installment of
the Zany Report,
but the big question is can he follow it up with another A+
effort? Are two hysterical weeks in a row too much to ask?
Even if the report does disappoint, America's Favorite game
show "Fix the Joke Baby (Live)" will be able to turn
that frown upside down. And once again some lucky fan will
win a few T-shirts, Zany's chart topping CD, I
Just Can't Win Baby, and a very valuable
one year subscription to the BOB&TOM VIP site.

Because
He's Fast...
Since his first appearance on the show, Kevin Pollak has become a legend
for his piece about interviewing Christopher Walken. There's not a day
that goes by where we don't get an e-mail containing the phrase "because
they're fast." Fortunately for fans everywhere, Kevin
Pollak's popular impression is rumored to be on his upcoming live
CD. Though Pollak has been rediscovering his comedy roots, he's probably
most well known for acting gigs. Over the years he's starred in a number
of hit films including The Usual Suspects, Grumpy
Old Men, A Few Good Men and The Whole Nine
Yards. At the age of 20, Kevin began performing on stage and made
a name for himself with his dead-on impressions of William Shatner and
Peter Faulk, both of which he used to impress Johnny Carson when he finally
landed a guest appearance, on the couch.

a life of comedy after being fired from the Washington
Times Herald for making up news. Since then, he’s
become a touring headline comedian, and part time actor.
Busboom’s landed gigs in a number of regional commercials
as well as a role in the movie Rice
Girl where he played a down and out pro wrestler.
Recently Rob was featured on XM Radio’s premier comedy
show, New Comic on he Block.
