He Was the"White Snake" of Comedy, But He's Still
Huge!
Bobcat Goldthwait
made a name for himself in the 80s with his stand up comedy,
and Police Academy
movies, but it wasn't until last July that he made his first
appearance on the BOB&TOM Show. With this one stop, he became
one of the most talked about guests of the year, and was featured
on the album, BOB&TOM Gone
Wild. After almost six months, Bobcat
makes his return to the Friggemall studio, and now that we all
know each other, we're pretty sure he won't set anything on
fire.
FACTOID
- Goldthwait made his directorial debut in "Shakes the
Clown," which is considered to be the Citizen Kane
of alcoholic clown movies.

Game Show Host or CIA Hit
Man? You Decide!
Chuck Barris was the great mind behind
hit television game shows The
Dating Game, Newlywed Game and
The Gong Show, but according to his
book Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, he was also
a secret CIA assassin, sent over seas to eliminate US enemies.
Is any of this true? He wont confirm or deny it.
"I have had a lot of ups and downs in my life," says
Barris. He made a name for himself early after writing a song
and passing it around Hollywood. It became a hit, but the executives
asked him to stop hi s music career because they didn't want
him stepping on Dick Clarks toes. Instead, he was asked to keep
an eye on Clark to keep him from doing anything "crazy."
"It is a different time when we were actually concerned
that Mr. Clark would do something crazy. I mean, back in my
day, my shows were considered crude. Now they could be shown
on PBS."
Though Barris won't talk about his alleged ties to the CIA,
this didn't stop George Clooney from using Barris life
story for his directorial debut.
"I was a little disappointed when I found out that Sam
Rockwell would be playing me in the movie, and not someone a
bit more famous," says Barris, "but now I can't imagine
having the movie without him. He was great."
Confessions
of a Dangerous Mind, starring Drew Barrymore, George Clooney
and Sam Rockwell hit theaters January 17 and is now playing
everywhere.

humor resulted in Renee being the only African-American woman
ever nominated for an "American Comedy Award." Hicks
credits include televisions Hangin

The Sci-Fi Guy
Comedian Matt
Weinhold is by far the coolest guy you'll
ever find at a Star Trek
convention. He credits this to having actually had sex with a
woman (we can't officially confirm that). We can, and often do
say that he is one of our favorite comedic guests despite the
collection of action figures he keeps in his bedroom. |

This
Time, He's Not Alone
Henry Phillips, singer/songwriter/comedian has recently turned
actor in The
Loner , a brand-new series featured on IFCTV.com. Phillips,
who created and co-wrote the series isn't letting this new found
talent distracted him from his first love, writing songs that
sound like serenades, but deep down are a bit more unsettling.
We've also just learned that Phillips is traveling across the
country as the chauffeur of friend and fellow comedian
Mike McCrea.
SIDE BAR
- Henry Phillips will be the Special Guest for the BOB&TOM
Live Show in Austin Texas, February 21-22.

Larry the Cable Guy
Larry
the Cable Guy, the "little
brother" of the Blue
Collar Comedy Tour, goes solo for a few gigs as the tour
takes a brief break. Larry is a fine philosopher, funny comedian,
southern redneck, former cable installer and he makes more twisted
analogies than anyone else on the planet. These are just a few
reasons you should see him if he's performing in a club near
you.

A Few Good Men
Nearly all of America believed that
the beautiful Trista
Rehn should have won the first edition of ABCs
The Bachelor.
Though she didnt get an engagement ring, Trista received
a second chance to look for love on national TV. This time she
is the one handing out the roses on The
Bachelorette. Miss Rehn gets to
date 25 different men, and each week will be forced to narrow
the field of suitors until she finds her perfect mate. Unlike
Alex (who backed out at the last minute) Trista says she finds
the love of her life on the show. Who will it be? And will there
be a marriage?
"You'll have to wait till Feb 19th to find out," says
Trista, speaking about the last episode to air in just a few
weeks. She says she had a feeling that she had found the right
man pretty early on in the game, but she wasn't positive until
toward the end. "It wasn't really love at first sight because
there were a few guys I was attracted to. I did know right away
though that this guy was a good catch."
Trista has three more episodes to go before she reveals which
of the four remaining gentleman is her life partner. After the
shows finally, it sounds as if her new man will be part of her
future plans.
"When the shows over, I have no idea what I am going to
do then, says Tristia. "I do know I want to take a break,
and visit some of my friends and family. We will visit his friends
and family too and giver everyone a chance to bond."
FACTOID
Before becoming the object of 25 mens affection,
Trista was a Miami Heat cheerleader.
