Guard Your Emollients
It's Drew Hastings
He's tall, dresses all in black (sometimes
including a sash), wears dark rimmed glasses, lives alone with
a cat, has a thing for redheads, and sports a shower cap while
bathing... but other than that, comedian Drew
Hastings is just like you. That just so happens to be the
title of Drew's new comedy album. I’m
Just Like You features Hastings’ unique takes on every
day life. But for those of you who don't own the CD... yet...
Drew will be live in the studio, and this time we promise not
to question his sexuality. Catch Drw with special guest MC Chick
McGee at the State Theatre in Anderson, Indiana Saturday, March
13th. see the EVENTS page for more
info.
There's always a chance when Drew stops by that his good
buddy, "Success Guru," Jack Freeman might tag along
to help everyone who wants to, become a winner.

This Just In
Though Comedian Jeff
Rothpan dosen’t join BOB&TOM in the studio as
often as they'd like, he still ranks right up there as one of
their favorite standup comedians. With a dry wit and perfect
delivery Rothpan has been called a “young Johnny Carson,”
but his connections to the Tonight Show
don’t end there. Discovered by Jay Leno, Jeff was asked
to join the writing staff of the late night talk show where
he provided monologues for a number of years. The
last time Jeff Rothpan visited us, he hinted that he
was adding a new animated series to his writing credits. After
waiting months and months to find out more, his cartoon is ready
to debut. This
Just In is an animated show that takes a look at
current events through the eyes and unfiltered mouth of the
series lead character, Brian Newport. Needless to say, if Newport's
got something on his mind, everyone within earshot is going
to hear about it. This Just In
debuts March 14th on Spike TV.

When One Name
Just Isn't Enough
Comedian Eddy Strange used to be comedian
Ross
Bennett, until he switched back to his birth name
and then changed back to Strange, and then back again to Bennett.
Got all that? Once he finally decided on a moniker for himself,
Bennett has become the "best kept secret in show business."
He began his career after dropping out of West Point during
his sophomore year to take up a life of comedy and theater.
Though his father didn't find that move all too humorous, Bennett
has been able to make a name (or two) for himself in a business
that he loves.

He'll Go Tally the Votes
CBS' smash hit reality show Survivor,
is almost mid-way though it's eighth season... and it's one
of the all-time best. That would make sense, considering it's
being played by 18 of the most beloved (and detested) characters
from the previous seven installments. And what would Survivor
be without Jeff Probst? So far he's been able to survive being
reunited with the likes of Rich,
Colby, Big Tom, Rupert, the Jennas, Ethan, and Boston Rob, but
we all wondered how he'd recover from the tongue lashing he
got from the always mild-mannered Sue Hawk. It
will be interesting to hear his take on that incident, how he
enjoys this game compared with the others and any other questions
he's allowed to answer. Survivor:
All Stars airs every Thursday on CBS.
Side Note
- If you haven't seen it yet, you should pick up a copy of Jeff
Probst's feature film Finder's
Fee, for which he was named 'one of the top-10 directors
to watch.' |

Smart, Sexy & Funny
Actress, comedian, and author the beautiful Aisha
Tyler does it all. The Ivy League educated Aisha is an actress
who found success in a roundabout way. After becoming a hit
on the standup circuit, she landed a sweet gig as the host of
E! Network’s “Talk Soup” which in turn led
to an increase in acting offers, which is what she had been
looking for in the first place. Among these jobs was her reoccurring
role on “Friends” as Ross’ love interest of
the season, paleontologist Charlie Wheeler. Around this time,
Tyler also became an accomplished writer. After gaining experience
by contributing articles for Glamour and Jane Magazine, Tyler
took the next big leap of her career and authored her first
book, Swerve:
Reckless Observations of a Postmodern Girl.

Patrick "The Tick"
Warburton Returns to TV
Patrick Warburton has made a
living making memorable guest appearances on television programs.
Any true Seinfeld aficionado would
recognize Warburton as Elaine’s on again off again boyfriend
"Puddy," but true fans of the actor love him for his
portrayal of the big blue oddball, spandex suited superhero,
“The Tick.” Along with those TV classics, he’s
also had major roles on NewsRadio, Ellen,
Murphy Brown, Less Than Perfect and
Malcolm in the Middle. Famous for his deep voice and
arrogant deadpan delivery, Warburton has been cast in a number
of animated series including Family Guy,
Buzz Lightyear, and Disney’s
feature film The Emperor’s
New Groove. In just a few days Warburton
is returning to television, this time lending his voice to the
CGI animated character "Rip Smashenburn," on the new
series Game
Over, which premieres Wednesday,
March 10th on UPN.
FACTOID - Before The Passion
of the Christ, Warburton may have held the record for
longest flogging in film history. In the movie Dragonard,
Warburton was sentenced to 100 lashes, which lasted for almost
four minutes of agonizing screen time. |

Vic Dunlop
At age 19 Vic
Dunlop was drafted into the Army and it was there that he
honed his comedy. Vic thought that his "slight obesity"
and flat feet would spare him a junket to Vietnam, but the Army
happily accommodated him . As a result, he was sent to the Army
"fat farm". "We were forced to wear pink armbands
to separate us from the skinnier recruits. I learned to laugh
at the absurdity of it all". Dunlop completed his stint in
the Army and was offered a future as an accountant with an oil
company. After two months he bailed out. "It was just too
tie and jacket for me". After doing a number of odd jobs
he stated a comedy group with his brother and three friends. Called
"Natural Gas", this improvisational comedy group appeared
frequently at the Comedy Store in Hollywood and was, later, hired
as the comedy regulars on "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert".
Vic next won 3rd place in the Los Angeles Stand-Up competition
and landed a two year deal with "Make Me Laugh". Vic
has appeared in "Meatballs II", "The Devil and
Max Devlin", and "Skateboard USA". He is truly
a man for all seasons...an actor, comedian, inventor, and entrepreneur.
His talent and drive are as endless as his creativity.

Homer’s Angels
Dan Castellaneta practices Tai Chi, is a vegetarian, and never
drinks beer. He's also the voice of America’s favorite
dysfunctional father, Homer Simpson. Ironic isn’t it?
Castellaneta began his acting career at the age of six and has
been doing impressions and voice work ever since. It was during
his time with the famed Second City comedy team that he caught
the eye of fellow impersonator, Tracy Ullman. She invited him
to become a performer on her FOX television comedy variety show,
which is where Dan was first introduced to his animated alter
ego, Homer. Though Dan keeps busy with his voice work on The
Simpsons, providing the personalities of Krusty, Mayor
Quimby, Groundskeeper Willie and many others, he occasionally
steps in front of the camera to do a little acting as well.
He’s been a guest star on shows such as Everybody
Loves Raymond and The Drew Carey Show and most recently
portrayed legendary producer Aaron Spelling in the made for
TV movie Behind
the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of 'Charlie's Angels.
The film takes a backstage peek at the tumultuous debut season
of the groundbreaking and titillating television series. Behind
the Camera airs Monday March 8th on NBC.

Step Over the Line
Al Katz considers himself to be a classical comedian. If that
means telling jokes at a comedy club while stage in front of
an audience, he is exactly right. What separates Katz
from his fellow classics is his philosophy on comedy (which
is also his perspective on life), which he calls Step Over the
Line. To simplify this complex theory, Katz believes that everyone
has a little borderline of humor that they grow accustomed to.
Katz enjoys stepping over it. In other words, Al’s taking
all those little hostilities in life and turning them into good
old-fashioned comedy.
FACTOID – You may recognize Al Katz from the Flexall commercials
featuring Joe Namath.
