Prepare
to Be Roasted
If you were to say that Jeff
Foxworthy made a good decision to leave his $30,000 a
year job to go into standup comedy, we sure wouldn’t
argue with you. Having taken his redneck brand of southern
comedy into almost every form of media imaginable, there
aren’t many folks out there who haven’t heard
the phrase “you might be a redneck if…” Jeff
is the author of best selling books, the star of Ace Award
winning comedy specials, starred in his own sitcom (on two
different networks), is the first comedian to ever have an
album go triple platinum, the host of a weekly countdown
radio show, and stars in a new sketch comedy show on The
WB. Oh, and maybe you’ve heard of one of his other
side projects, the highly successful Blue
Collar Comedy Tour, which has spawned two
comedy albums, a movie, DVDs and a hit sketch comedy
show. One drawback to all this success is that it has given
his contemporaries plenty of material to use against him
in the upcoming Comedy
Central Roast which will air this Sunday.

They
Call Him
Tater Salad
Comedian Ron
White has a comedy style that is as subtle as a nine-car pileup
on the freeway. His stories, which usually involve his love of adult
beverages, or being kicked out of somewhere (with one usually leading
to the other), laugh in the face of conventional comedy. White’s
not one to shy away from stating his point of view. He's blunt, and may
be bit obnoxious, but somehow he makes this work for him on stage. To
describe him as a testosterone-laden, good ol' boy with a Texan point
of view would be an understatement, but it would explain why he teamed
up with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy to form
the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Though he
recently released his own very successful comedy album Drunk
in Public, Ron is calling in this time to discuss the upcoming Roast
of Jeff Foxworthy airing this Sunday on Comedy Central.

Because
He's Fast...
Since his first appearance on the show, Kevin Pollak has become a legend
for his piece about interviewing Christopher Walken. There's not a day
that goes by that we don't get an e-mail containing the phrase "because
they're fast." Fortunately for fans everywhere, Kevin
Pollak's popular impression can be found on his new live comedy CD, A
Little Off the Top. Though Pollak has been rediscovering his comedy
roots, he's probably most well known for acting roles. He's currently
teaming up with his good buddy Bruce Willis in the new action flick, Hostage.
Kevin plays the father of a family being held hostage in their own home,
and he's hoping that the negotiator (Willis) can get them out alive.

Keeping
Busy
It's easy to see that A.J.
Jamal is no slouch, having conquered television, film, concerts,
and comedy clubs with his engaging, G-rated comedy. His broad appeal
is evident when looking at the variety of television programs he’s
appeared on including The Tonight Show, Comic
Justice, and In Living Color along
with standup specials on HBO and Showtime. A former I.B.M. computer engineer,
Jamal's taken his analytical and perceptive comedy to every conceivable
venue from Radio City Music Hall to college campuses across the country.
But he’s got more going on than just his standup act, Jamal’s
also an accomplished filmmaker, animator, and president of his own animation
company.

The
Norman Fell of Blue Collar Comedy
It wasn’t all that long ago that Bill
Engvall was famous for his “Here’s Your Sign,” standup
comedy. And though that phrase and comedy piece launched him into the
spotlight, nothing can compare with the fame brought on by being a part
of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon. Even though he is considered
to be the Norman Fell of the funny foursome, Bill is reaping the rewards
of Blue Collar branded CD’s, DVD’s, TV
sketch comedy shows and a feature film. Now, to add to the ever-growing
list of Blue Collar entertainment, Comedy Central is putting on a Roast
of the group’s ‘leader,’ Jeff Foxworthy. Ron White,
Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy and a series of other celebrities will
take their turn roasting Foxworthy, and we’re guessing the show
will contain more than a few redneck jokes. The
Jeff Foworthy Roast airs Sunday, March 20 on Comedy Central.

Move
It or Lose It
Tim
Bedore, the man behind the exciting feature Vague But
True, has been on the move now for what seems like an eternity.
For the past month or so, Tim’s been trying to relocate
from LA to the Midwest and has had nothing but problems.
From incompetent movers, to having to stay in his in-law’s
basement, it’s just been one inconvenience after another.
But through it all, Tim’s remained dedicated to his
legions of adoring fans by continuing to write and share
his thoughts in the weekly VBT editorials. We’re just
hoping that Tim’s new installment is a little less
graphic than last week’s.

Tuesdays
with Zany
Legendary comedian Bob
Zany is set to deliver his eagerly anticipated Zany
Report once again and we can barely contain our excitement. Having
had a week to prepare, Bob is once again ready to present what he thinks
is top-notch material in hopes of creating the biggest, funniest, most
spectacular Zany Report of all time. However, if for some reason you
arent exhausted from laughing when its all said and done,
Bob's still got BobZany.com to fall
back on. It's there that you can test your hand at punch line writing
by playing Fix The Joke Baby, and while
you're at it, why not pick up one of those "Eat Salmon the Other
Pink Meat" T-shirts?

Give Scheft For the Holidays
Former standup comedian turned writer,
Bill Scheft pens the the column "The
Show" in Sports
Illustrated, and is the
author of one of the greatest novels of our generation, The
Ringer, but right
now he's first and foremost a sports fan. More
specifically, a Boston sports fan. You probably couldn't find
a happier guy right now since his
New England Patriots won their third
Super Bowl in four years and his Boston Red Sox are getting
ready to start defending their first World Series in 86 years.
We're sure with all this excitement in his home town, and the
steroid scandal, Bill's got more than enough material to write
about. Aside from all this sports talk, Scheft is by far one
of the most comically gifted geniuses we've ever had on the
show, and appears on the newest BOB&TOM album, Odd
Balls. Did we mention that his
book would make a great gift?

You Gonna Call? Mythbusters!
Adam
Savage, the non-beret wearing co-host of Mythbusters holds

the questions of when the battery was invented, how to rebuild
a crash test dummy, and what's the best way to cool a six-pack.
