What He Meant to Say...
Donny Osmond, of the famed Osmond family, has been in show business since the age of six. He first began performing with his brothers in the early 70’s, and together the boys put out a number of hit songs. When his sister Marie joined the act, the two were given their own very successful variety show. In the 80’s Donny left television and moved on to theater where he began performing on Broadway. This move led to his long run as Joseph in the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In recent years, Donny once again teamed up with his sister to host the Donny & Marie talk show, is now the host of the game show Pyramid, and has released two new albums, What I Meant to Say and Somewhere in Time.

FACTOID – Donny Osmond was spotted in the audience and called out by Ryan Seacrest during an episode of American Idol.

The Legend
of John Fox

Due to his notorious reputation and all the stories that circulate about him, we're always a bit nervous to hear that comedian John Fox will be our guest in the studio. Fox is a legend among his peers in the comedy community for being one of the dirtiest (yet one of the greatest) joke tellers ever. But don't think it's all just an act, Fox is even more notorious for his offstage antics, most of which were captured in Pat Godwin's tribute,
The Legend of John Fox, including his fondness for hookers, porn, booze and leaving each "comedy condo" a mess. Though John is currently traveling the country on his "Clean and Sober Tour," you can still find out all you need to know about the man, the myth, the legend by seeing him for yourself when he comes to your town. But be warned, you may feel the need to shower once the show is over.

FACTOID - When Pat Godwin wrote the Legend of John Fox, the two had never met. He wrote the song based on all the stories passed around about Fox throughout the comedy world.

Nattily Attired,
Left-Handed Comedy

Todd Pesick is arguably one of the best dressed comics today. His dry wit ranges from intelligent to silly. Some of Todd’s left-handed style of humor is apparent in his ingenious writing. Some of his humor will make you think. A lot of Todd’s humor will make you laugh. Todd Pesick’s anti-animated style amplifies some of the small well-placed gestures and makes for an attention getting performance. He’s Quirky. He’s Placid. He’s Enigmatic. He’s left-handed. He’s seriously funny.

Cracka, Please
For weeks now Mike Birbiglia has been sharing his stories from the road in a little feature he likes to call his Secret Public Journal, but this week things are going to be a little different. It's not just because he now has a snappy intro either. We're very excited to say that Birbigs is going to be doing his reading, and maybe a little standup comedy, live in the studio. Recently, Mike's been taking part in a huge comedy tour with fellow friends of the show Drew Hastings, Henry Phillips and Pat Godwin.

FACTOID - Mike has made a promise to college students that if they hire him to perform at their school, he'll not only make them laugh, he'll also eat at the local Applebee's. Mike's a big fan of Riblets and the Presidentié Margarita.

The Template
For Tell-All Books

In Major League Baseball’s current climate with alleged steroid abuse and outrageous salaries dominating the news, many are waiting for somebody to come out with a tell-all book about what’s really going on behind the scenes. Much like what former Yankee pitcher Jim Bouton did in the 70’s with his groundbreaking book, Ball Four. Bouton’s first book shed light on what was going on inside "America’s National Pastime" back in the days when people still looked up to ball players as role models. Though he was called a turncoat and a traitor for giving away all of the games dirty little secrets, Ball Four has become the template for every tell-all book that’s come out since. It’s recently been re-released in a special 20th anniversary edition alongside Bouton’s newest book, Foul Ball.

Teaching Failure
Through Example

Growing up in a world where he was saturated with country music, bowl haircuts and Catholic school, it’s no wonder James Johann turned to standup comedy, it's a lot cheaper than therapy. Over the years, Johann has decided that the harsh reality and overriding theme running throughout life is failure and it’s this upbeat message he attempts to teach the audience every time he takes the stage. Don’t let James’ boyish appearance fool you, he’s actually been in the joke-telling business for over ten years, honing his high-energy comedy and perfecting his self-depreciating sense of humor into what audiences now enjoy today.

The Host of Vague
But True, Tim Bedore

Tim Bedore, the man behind the exciting feature Vague But True, has been on the move now for what seems like an eternity. For the past month or so, Tim’s been trying to relocate from LA to the Midwest and has had nothing but problems. From incompetent movers, to having to stay in his in-law’s basement, it’s just been one inconvenience after another. But through it all, Tim’s remained dedicated to his legions of adoring fans by continuing to write and share his thoughts in the weekly VBT editorials.

Rodney's Other Family
Since
Rodney is still on the air and nearing the end of its freshman season, it's safe to say that ABC has been happy with the show's performance on Tuesday nights. This can be attributed to talented cast and clever writing staff who have been able to take Carrington's not-so-clean standup comedy and make it safe for network television. On the show, Rodney plays an everyday Mid-America guy trying to raise his family while pursuing his dream of becoming a standup comedian at the same time. And to keep things interesting, he's also got to keep tabs on his buddy Barry and his wife's man-hungry sister, Charlie, as portrayed by the lovely actress Amy Pietz. Amy is a veteran of both stage and screen. She's starred in numerous theatrical plays and musicals and has been featured in film and television. Her acting credits include a starring role on the hit sitcom Caroline in the City, as well as guest appearances on Alley McBeal, ER and CSI. She was also featured in the films Rudy, The Whole Ten Yards and Jingle All the Way.

The Joy of Zany
Comedian Bob Zany may not realize it by the way we treat him when he calls in, but he's our most eagerly anticipated guest each week. There are few comedians working today that have the guts it takes to come on a nationally syndicated radio show every week and perform all new material. Then to top it all off, he invites listeners to call in and fix the jokes that some (meaning Tom) have deemed 'virtually laugh free.' Sounds fun doesn't it? Catch The Zany Report every Tuesday so you too can play "Fix the Joke Baby" where the prize package includes CDs, t-shirts, and a BOB&TOM VIP membership.
