Always Hard at Work
Have "relations" with multiple
beautiful women, and getting paid to do it seems like every
man's dream job. Ron Jeremy has been living that life for years,
and
now it's focus of the the new documentary Porn
Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy.
How
did this every-man become the superstar of adult cinema? Let's
just say he possesses biological and anatomical gifts that have
helped him rise to super stardom. Though we won't be going into
detail here, if you'd like to know more, visit your local video
rental store. It would be difficult to find a movie Ron hasn't
had a part in. In fact, he's lent his services in over 1700
films. (Get out your calculator to figure out how many women
that would be)
His legendary status has many women in the industry bending
over backwards to work with Mr.
Jeremy, but throughout his career, his real dream has been to
crack into mainstream movies.
Though he's found a few bit parts here and there, seeing Ron
is a serious role has been a little hard for audiences to swallow.
FACTOID
- Before breaking into porn, Ron Jeremy was a Special Education
High School Teacher.

Roll Out the Red Carpet
Along with her mother Joan, Melissa
Rivers has been making a career out of talking to the stars.
She's been hosting red-carpet pre and post-award ceremony shows
on the E! Network
for the past seven years. Her job is to chat it up with all the
high profile celebs as they enter the building, and then critique
what they were wearing hours after the show on The
Fashion Police. Melissa says that even though they can
be pretty harsh when critiquing a wardrobe, everyone still has
fun with it. "These people who are making $20 million a movie
don't really care what we have to say." "This
job just kind of happened," says Rivers. "My mom did
a show one year for E!, and then they asked her to do it again
and if I was available to work it too. Then it just took off from
there."
Melissa has also hosted specials for E! including Oh
Baby 2: Melissa's Guide to Surviving the First Year where
she talked to other Hollywood parents with newborn children. "I
never really worried about what I was wearing or how I looked
until about a year ago, after the baby. Now I just try to make
sure my sweats don't have holes in them." Melissa also says
that there is a little bit of pressure to look her best while
interviewing on the red carpet. "It's tough because we are
actually working in our clothes, not just standing around. I am
always afraid I am going to turn or stretch and go flying out
of my dress."
The Rivers girls already host pre-shows for the Emmys, Oscars,
Golden Globes, and People's Choice Awards, but this year the ESPN
award show the Espys is being added. "I am excited about
that one," says Melissa. "My mom's knowledge on sports
is extremely limited." |

Gina Crews
All was fine in the new Maramuu camp after finally winning their
first challenge of the Survivor:
Marquesas game. They were already down to four members,
and only one of those four, Gina
Crews, had been part of the original tribe. This put her
in a tough position because even though her new tribe members
had grown close, she was still somewhat of an outsider. Gina
felt that if they lost the last challenge before the two tribes
merged into one, it might be her time to go. And she was right.
In a very emotional tribal council, Gina Crews the lovely, southern,
nature lover became the sixth person voted out of the game.
"After you get voted out, it's off to loser lounge with
all the rest of the castoffs," says Crews about her stay
on the Marquesas. Gina enjoyed her the rest of her "vacation"
on the island as opposed to some of her other companions. "I
didn't get eaten by the no-no's (nasty fly like bugs on the
island) like everyone else did. I guess I wasn't sweet enough."
Now that her she's back in the real world, Gina finds herself
jobless, but hopes to land a new career in a field out in the
field. "My friends say I am a nature freak, which was one
of the reasons why I wanted to be on Survivor." She used
her other qualifications to land a spot on the show too, that
being a Watermelon Queen, and seed spitting champion. "On
my video I was wearing my crown and eating a slice of watermelon.
I didn't spit seeds until the interview." |

Making It Up as He Goes
Don
Lake has made a living as an improv specialist. Having
been a part of two different "Second City" comedy troops,
been in the highly improvised films Waiting for Guffman and Best
in Show, and guest starring on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. Playing
Dr. Zimmermen on Watching
Ellie gave Lake a chance to do something he had never done
before... a nude scene. "All I was thinking about
while doing it was how I was going to get razzed by the dads at
my kids little league games," says Lake. It's all worth it
though when you land a role on a sitcom that is given the chance
to succeed. With all the new shows that have come out this season,
Watching Ellie is one of the few that may return next season.
"It takes awhile for a cast and crew to find their groove,
to see what the characters are all about. That's where we are
now," says Lake. "Most shows anymore get yanked after
only two weeks, but the president of NBC is a big fan, and we
seem to have gained a following."
Though he primarily sticks to the scripts of Ellie, even with
as off the cuff as they seem, his film experience is much different.
In them movies Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show, the director
would hand them a 26 page outline of what the movie was supposed
to be about. "There was no dialogue. We just knew what was
supposed to happen, and we made it up from there. It's a fun way
to work. These are the types of movies you want to get the DVD's
of... for all the extras."
Watching Ellie airs every Tuesday night on NBC. |

The Other Weakest Link
When the game show phenomenon Weakest
Link took America by storm, the folks at NBC enterprises thought
it would be a great idea to develop a syndicated version of the
hit series. The game was already in place, but they still needed
a man behind the podium. That's where comedian, and Emmy winner
George
Gray came in. The former host of Junkyard
Wars and can now be seen five days a week (check local
listings) letting people know how un-smart they are, and then
sending them on their way. "I try not to be too
mean to them," says Gray. "We talk after the show, and
most the contestants know that it's all in fun. The nicest compliment
I ever got was that being on the show is a lot like being roasted
by Dean Martin."
Gray doesn't claim to be an "Alex Trebec," and know,
or pretend to know the answers to all the questions he asks. "I
was a B student because I coasted by," says Gray. He is however
surprised at how moronic some of the contestants can be. "Some
of these people don't have the brains that God gave ice cubes."
Life on Weakest Link isn't as easy as one might think. His hosting
day runs about 14 hours, and they shoot four episodes a day. Gray
doesn't expect anyone to feel bad for him, unless the look at
his wardrobe. "During the breaks, I play around with the
crowd and ask them to play "guess the wardrobe." I have
these $1000 outfits, but they all look the same. Why can't I just
wear the same thing and save a few hours."
Gray is filling the shoes of Weakest Link Anne Robinson on the
syndicated version of the game show, and he says though it was
tough, he is really enjoying himself. "When doing a job,
there are times when you are just phoning it in, and times when
you really enjoying it. This is one of those jobs I am really
enjoying." FACTOID
- George Gray was at one time a audience warm-up comedian for
several television shows. |

Andy Richter's Back on TV
Conan O'Brien's former sidekick is back on television,
but this time around, he's the headliner starring in his own sitcom
on FOX, Andy
Richter Controls the Universe.
In the show, Andy narrates the stories of his life. This allows
him to take the audience into his bizarre mind and show them how
things could have happened, as well as the real outcome of out
rages situations he seems to find himself in. Andy plays himself,
guy trying to become a writer while working at a extremely large
corporation. "My character does evil things, but then feels
guilty and tries to correct it," says Richter. "It's
a lot like the real me."
One of the more popular scenarios found Andy hated by his coworkers,
leading him to wear a "puppy suit" to win their affection
back. Who can hate a puppy, let alone a suit filled with 12 of
them. "The suit was really heavy," said Richter. "A
harness had to be put on the inside to help me support the weight.
And it was nerve racking too. The puppies in the front kept trying
to wiggle out, and if I tried to catch one if it did get out,
the puppies on my sleeves would fall out. So I was worried the
whole time about a ending up with a puppy with a broken neck.
I thought that might be a bad omen for the show."
With all he episodes finished and in the can, Andy finds himself
relaxing in his new LA home, enjoying the success his show has
found so far. "I stayed in New York as long as I could. If
we didn't have a little baby, we probably would have stayed out
there because we love it so much. But with the show in full swing,
we had to move out to LA" FACTOID
- Andy Richter played Mike Brady in the stage production "The
Real Live Brady Bunch" |

He Could Be The Luckiest Man Alive Alex
Michel is a man who has the distinct pleasure of trying
his hardest to chose a bride out of 25 girls all attempting to
get his attention. Not only that, he is doing this while being
treated to a life of luxury in a huge mansion, with nothing to
do but date these ladies for six weeks. Alex is ABC's first contestant
on the reality show The
Bachelor, which is attempting to help this lucky man find
a love connection. "It's a tough job, but someone's
got to it," says Michel. How he got "the job" is
story all it's own. "I had never heard of this until I got
an e-mail from a buddy of mine. I thought to myself, this is the
greatest thing ever."
Alex jumped at the chance to date 25 beautiful women because he
says his twenties were spent focused on his education and career.
"I never really had time to date. I had a few steady relationships,
and dated here and there, but mostly it was my career.
The show has already been filmed, so the outcome is already certain,
however, the viewing public must still watch to find out how it
all ends. Though we don't know if he ends up with a bride, Alex
does say he knows a lot more about women now. "I did learn
more than ever about how much women actual talk. I would go out
with one girl, and then on my next date I would hear about it
from a different girl."
So far on the show, he has narrowed it down to eight lovely ladies,
but now the competition really heats up. Alex's friends move in
to help him judge the remaining women, and then it's down to the
final four. The Bachelor airs
every Monday on ABC. |

G-Lo's Show Staying Strong
The
George Lopez Show has the distinction
of being one of the few new programs able to hold on to its
strong ratings after the pilot episode. The star of the program,
George Lopez, says he won't stop trying to make sure it stays
a hit. "I'll put on a dress and dance if I have to,"
says George
Lopez. "I'll do whatever
I have to promote the show. I just
want to be able to do the this for about five years, then move
to Hawaii and become a Samoan."
Its looks as though he won't have to try that hard to make it
a hit with the support he's getting from producer Sandra Bullock
who Lopez says is the driving force behind the series. "She
discovered me, and never stopped working to get this show on
the air." Bullock will be appearing on the special "birthday
episode" which Lopez said was inspired by his real life
childhood. "I grew up with my grand parents, and around
my birthday, I used to think we were poor. It turns out, they
were just stingy."
The show also has the backing of the same producers who created
the hit shows The Drew Carey Show,
and Rosanne...
both of which starred standup comics, just like Lopez.
The show will be a midseason replacement and will be following
ABC's hit sitcom, My Wife and
Kids. It was originally schedule to
shoot 13 episodes, but the test screenings of Lopez's show were
so good, they changed it to four episodes, and moved it to the
middle of the season to help gain a loyal audience. "Fortunately
I don't have that Seinfeld curse to deal with," says Lopez.
"I just have to follow A.K. Pablo."
This show will take a look at Lopez's family life, which is
a mix of his real life past and present. His character works
at an airplane factory, and has a meddling mom to deal with
while raising his family. "The producers asked me if I
minded having this much about the real me revealed. I told them
I had absolutely no problem with it." This is partially
why the show got the creative title The
George Lopez Show. "We were going
to call it "Taco's for Two," but changed it at the
last minute. Also, "The Mexican" had been taken by
Brad Pitt."
When he's not on the show's set, or starring in another critically
acclaimed film premiering in festivals around the world, Lopez
continues to do his popular standup routines. If you don't get
a chance to see him live on tour, you can take George home by
ordering his new CD Right
Now, Right Now
