Rockin' Since the 60s
The legendary rock band Aerosmith has been living on the music charts since their inception in the early 70's. While many of their peers have faded away or fallen to the wayside, Aerosmith has continued to release monster hit after hit, keeping them among the top musical acts all these years. Much of the credit for their longevity has to go to the front man of the group, Steven Tyler. Tyler formed his first serious band, Chain Reaction, in the late 60's at the age of 17. Little did he know that this group, when merged with Joe Perry's Jam Band, would form one of the most influential rock groups of the era. Together they've released over 20 albums, which include hits like Dude (Looks Like a Lady), Eat the Rich and Janie's Got a Gun. Aerosmith is back on tour this summer, so make sure to check out their website for concert dates. The band is also performing on television in an A&E special concert, Aerosmith: You Gotta Move which will air Friday, June 4th.

Taking His Show
on the Road

Everyone’s been put in the position where they have to either decline or accept a stupid dare by their idiot friends. But how many times does that dare turn into a career? We’re not sure on the exact numbers, but that's the story of comedian Louis Ramey who became a comedian after his buddies talked him into taking the stage and telling a few jokes at a local jazz club. That night Louis decided it would be his mission to conquer comedy stages worldwide, and he’s done just that. Not only is he a Tonight Show veteran, Ramey took part in the Just For Laughs Comedy Tour which performed all over the world. He also entertained the troops in the middle-east as a part of a 2002 USO Tour. Ramey has been featured on The View, Premium Blend, and 48 Hours and is the host of the brand new Nick@Nite Road Crew.

My Favorite Gilmartin
Comedian, poet, and movie buff Paul Gilmartin is often recognized by astute television viewers as one of the hosts of TBS Superstation's long running program,
Dinner and a Movie. Every Monday, Gilmartin hosts a topnotch feature film while at the same time giving out instructions and recipes to viewers so they can prepare a perfectly themed meal to enjoy while watching the it. Though you rarely see Gilmartin in a kitchen, he claims his culinary skills are second to none (except for maybe the professional chef who co-hosts the program). We're not yet sold on his cooking but we do know he can serve up some fine poetry. Classics like Circus Love, Tim the Die-hard Packer Fan, and Undignified Ways to Die are highly requested pieces in the B&T Archives and have captivated the hearts and imaginations of an entire generation.

Why You Crying?
Super standup comedian, television sitcom icon and longtime friend of the show George Lopez has recently added a new credit to his already impressive resume. George is now an author, having just published his highly anticipated autobiography, Why You Crying?, in which he discusses what it was like growing up as a poor kid with no future only to become the most famous Mexican celebrity outside of Erik Estrada. The book mixes true stories from G-Lo’s life with some of his funniest standup routines in what turns out to be a fantastic and inspirational read. While his book rises on the bestseller list (we hope) and his sitcom goes on hiatus before returning to its new night, Lopez is using the summer to get back to his roots and so some standup. Check out his website for tour information, and make sure you catch him if he comes to a town near you.

Teaching Failure
Through Example

Growing up in a world where he was saturated with country music, bowl haircuts and Catholic school, it’s no wonder James Johann turned standup comedy as a form of therapy. Over the years, Johann learned a harsh reality; the overriding theme running throughout life is failure and it’s that pleasant message he attempts to teach the audience every time he takes the stage. Don’t let James’ boyish appearance fool you, he’s actually been in the joke-telling business for over ten years, honing his high-energy comedy and perfecting his self-depreciating sense of humor into what it is today.

Check Under the Bed

Not only is comedian Pat Godwin a fantastic songwriter and excellent guitarist with the uncanny ability to mimic the voice and style of almost any other artist you can name, he's also one of our favorite guests. Godwin's littered the past two BOB&TOM albums with multiple music tracks including the now classic tunes Nobody Speaks English Anymore, The Legend of John Fox and C'est La Vie. However, even if you hear him perform one of these songs you know by heart, it's going to sound brand new because Pat rarely sings a song the same way twice. Keep an eye out for Pat's forthcoming album Under the Bed, which will feature the oft-requested song, The Voices in My Head.

Heywood's Bank of Songs
Armed with his ever-tuned guitar and an adequate grasp of his lyrics, Heywood Banks is one of the best comedian singer/songwriters around. From 18 Wheels on a Big Rig to Wiper Blades Heywood's bank of songs is filled with good clean fun for the entire family. Though you may wonder how one warped mind could write all these off-the-wall lyrics, you'll never get tired of hearing Heywood belt them out. We're sure you've heard many of Heywood's classics, but you may not be familiar with his newest tunes which are featured on the CD Pretending I'm Not Home (available at comedyhome.com). We're hoping when he stops by he'll be kind enough to play a few cuts from the album, or maybe even a few tunes we've never heard before.

You Were Meant For Steve
You wouldn’t think a guy that writes songs like Dog Doo Blues #48 and I Killed Walter Matthau was the same guy who discovered folk princess Jewel Kilcher, but they are both singer/songwriter Steve Poltz. Poltz, the co-author of Jewel’s smash hit single You Were Meant For Me, began his music career as a member of the The Rugburns. With their off-the-wall lyrics and a style that blended folk, punk, pop and Swedish death metal, the band developed a cult fan base that followed them across the country, showing up at any venue they were playing. The Rugburns released three albums before Steve decided to pursue a solo career. Not content sticking with one style of music, Poltz writes songs that cover the entire musical spectrum. He’d sing beautiful folk tunes as the opening act for Jewel, then release an entire album of 46-second songs that he’d used as outgoing messages on his answering machine (such as the very popular, Sugar Booger). Poltz has recorded five solo albums including his most recent release, Chinese Vacation.

FACTOID – Steve Poltz once made a living selling pipe nipples.

FACTOID – "You Were Meant For Me" stayed on the Billboard Top 100 chart longer than any other song in history.

Comics On Duty
As the war in Iraq continues, the troops long for anything that will remind them of their lives back home. And what better way to do this than with some good ol' American standup comedy? That’s why a group of comedians have come together to form the Comics on Duty World Tour, a program that travels around the world to bring laughter to our brave men and women overseas. Comics on Duty has been around for over 12 years and has put on over 1300 performances. Chris Alpine and Steve Mazan are among the headliners making stops around the Middle East this year, and the troops grateful they’ve got top-tier headliners performing for them. Because out in the Mid-East, you don’t want anyone bombing.

Speed Racer
With only three years of experience driving in the IRL, Buddy Rice came from virtual obscurity to capture the pole position of the 88th running of the Indianapolis 500. Rice, who runs the #15 Pioneer/ Argent Mortgage car for Rahal-Letterman Racing, has the best starting position of his young IRL career after running a four-lap average of 222 mph. As an Indy 500 rookie, Rice finished in 11th place, and one lap down after starting in 19th position. Now in his sophomore attempt, Rice finds himself sitting on the pole, driving the fastest car in the field, and an odds-on favorite to take the checkered flag. The guy’s a quick study. Though he’s relatively new to the IRL, Rice has been racing since 1996. His career highlights include winning the Toyota Atlantic Championship in 2000, and finishing 16th in the IRL point standings in 2003.

Yes Virginia, There is a Bob Zany

Bob Zany, legendary comic and all around great guy, has confirmed that there is a possibility that this could be his greatest edition of the Zany Report ever! If it's anything like past reports prepare to laugh, at least once. Plus, get ready for another round of "Fix-the-Joke Baby" which will probably feature a joke from last week's Report.

The Timeless Music of Tim Cavanagh
He may have given up trying to keep his songs under one minute in length, but this new extended format has opened up new creative doors for comedian Tim Cavanagh. Now with all this extra time on his hands, Cavanagh can expand on each of his song's selected subjects, finding the perfect punch lines, and creating even more memorable lyrics for us to sing along with. Looking through the archives, it’s obvious that Tim is able to write a song on almost any topic, so we never know what we're going to get when he picks up his guitar and begins to play. If you enjoyed his comedy tunes when they were a mere sixty seconds in length, just imagine how much harder you'll be laughing when he throws out the stopwatch. We're guessing it'll be pure ecstasy.
VIP members can get their Cavanagh fix anytime by clicking over to the Tim Cavanagh Audio Page!
