The Running Man
When you look at his "track record" of success, it's safe to say that Carl Lewis is one of the greatest athletes of all time. And that's not just our opinion, hes been named World Athlete of the Year three times (82,83,84), World Athlete of the Decade during the 80s, and even the Olympic Athlete of the century. He earned medals in four straight Olympic games, winning nine gold in four different events. Though Carl has retired his running shoes, he still stays active promoting events, including the upcoming 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He's also an up and coming actor, check out some of his clips on his website.

Lucky Louie
To say Louis C.K has done it all would be too vague, but to list it all would take too long, so instead we'll give you a quick review of some of the highlights of his career. A Tonight Show, Late Night and Late Show veteran, Louis C.K. has not only appeared on almost every comedy television show, he’s also written for a number of them. Louis began his standup career in 1987 with an open mic night that went horribly wrong. Luckily for Louis, he didn’t let that first performance discourage him because if he had, he never would have been nominated for four Emmy Awards (winning one) while working on the Chris Rock Show, made a number of comedy shorts that have been featured at Sundance Film Festival, and directed a couple of cult classic movies like Pootie Tang. Louis recently found himself back in front of the camera working on his very own HBO sitcom, Lucky Louie (now available on DVD).

If the Shubert Fits...
Early on in life, Jimmy Shubert knew he wanted to be an entertainer. At first he tried performing magic for a living, but soon realized he had no desire to wear a tux and pull objects out of his pockets. Fortunately, he soon befriended the late Sam Kinison, went into standup and became one of the "Original Outlaws of Comedy." After Kinison's passing, Jimmy moved to Florida, where he fine tuned his act and perfected his craft. Not long after, Shubert caught a break in his acting career when he picked up a lollipop during an audition and earned a role in the hit film GO. Since then, Jimmy's shown up in The Italian Job, One Hour Photo, and Coyote Ugly.

They Call Him Cash
It’s not often that we’ll put a comedian on the show based soley on a recommendation, but when two greats like Larry Reeb and David Crowe say a guy's good, we tend to believe them. And we we're correct in doing so because Cash Levy was just as funny as advertised. He is versatile, is quick on his feat, and able to deliver his jokes and entertain audiences without offending anyone (which makes him perfect for corporate gigs. He’s appeared on Comedy Central, starred in a pilot for ABC and released the CD, Cash Levy Tidbits, which is available on his website.

Cool Refreshing Mintz
What can you say about comedian Dan Mintz that hasn't already been said? Well, we don't know what's been said about him, so we'll just stick with the facts. Mintz grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, then he went to college, then he moved to Los Angeles where he became a professional writer and standup comedian. Though writing jobs are hard to come by in LA, Mintz was able to find work on a number of shows including Comedy Central's Crank Yankers, Last Call with Carson Daly and on the HBO comedy Lucky Louie, starring our good friend Louis CK.

Better Than
the Real Thing
You May recognize Frank Caliendo as a long time star of MAD TV, as the comic relief on FOX NFL Sunday, or even from his multiple appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman. Actually, on second thought, maybe you don't. If his face doesn't look familiar, it's probably because Caliendo is a master impressionist who spends more time on screen portraying other people than he does as himself. Caliendo's impressive impressions include celebrities like Al Pacino, Jim Rome, Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Ted Knight, Jeff Goldblum, and a John Madden so good you could swear it was the real thing.

Getting the
Last Laugh
Comedienne Kathleen Madigan has starred in her own HBO and Comedy Central standup specials, developed television pilots, reported for ESPN2, has appeared on the Tonight Show over ten times, won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Club Comic, and has filled in for Kristi Lee at the B&T news desk. With all these credentials, we were as surprised as anyone when she didn't win Last Comic Standing on the hit NBC reality show. However, she has been asked back to appear on the newest season of the show, only this time she'll be the one doing the judging as one of the on-air talent scouts.

C'mon It's Jokes
If the name didn't tip you off, comedian Costaki Economopoulos comes from a Greek background, which is why it's not surprising he's been described as a joke philosopher. And we're positive he's not the only one saying that. Known for his clever writing, Costaki's punch lines have been heard on The Tonight Show, BET, and MTV. In other news, he's released his first comedy CD, C'mon It's Jokes, and is dating the beautiful and funny comedienne, Caroline Rhea. |
