On the Run From Sallie Mae
According to his media kit, Mark Sweeney is a "professional comedian," even though his credits also include acting roles in "Boston Public", "The Visitor", and "Days of Our Lives." Sweenz has starred in several independent films (we assume this means he's done a lot of porn). The four years he spent in the US Marines were either forgettable or he just can't remember them, but he does recall that at some point he went to college, worked about 12 jobs in four years and has been on the run from the student loan collectors ever since.

Scheft's Bestseller Now In Paperback
You help a guy sell thousands of books and all of a sudden he’s your best friend. Normally we’d be a little suspicious of someone like this, but we enjoy
Bill Scheft’s phone calls too much to think any thing of it. Besides, if a novel is as good as The Ringer, it deserves to be flying off bookshelves. Speaking of Scheft's best-selling book, The Ringer is now being sold in paperback editions. Scheft is an accomplished comedic writer who, when not working on his second novel, is a monologue writer for the Late Show w/ David Letterman, a show he'll make a guest appearance on Friday, June 27. And if you've already read The Ringer (both editions) and still crave more Scheft, he also writes an extremely funny weekly column in Sports Illustrated.

He May Be the Best
Two comedians, unprompted on separate occasions, told us that the best comedian we will have on the air all year is Pablo Francisco. This puts a lot of pressure on the young standup comic, but from what we hear, he’s more than ready to live up to this billing. Pablo’s popularity comes from his energetic stage presence and ability to act out his comedy and paint vivid imagery with voices, sound effects, and story telling. If you miss his first appearance on the BOB&TOM Show, you may just miss the show of the year? Do you want that hanging over your head? We didn’t think so.

Proving Multiple Personalities Can Be Fun
Having been a long time member of the famed sketch comedy troop Second City, it’s no wonder comedian Mike Lukas’ comedy show is more like a one-man improv show than your typical standup routine. Lukas is a Tonight Show veteran that rarely ever seems like himself. Instead, he portrays an entire cast of characters; seamlessly moving from personality to personality transforming himself in the process. In short, Mike Lukas isn’t just a good comedian he’s also a fun bunch of guys.

Writing Comedy in Crayon
Brian McKim got his start in standup comedy during an open mic night at a comedy club in Philadelphia. He knew if he wanted to 'make it,' he had to be different and stand out from the crowd. So he did the only logical thing he could think of… take the stage in a giant crayon outfit. Though he’s left this colorful past behind, McKim continues to perform standup comedy across the country, only now in more classic attire. McKim is also an accomplished comedy writer, having written for television and radio programs. He and his wife (fellow comedian Traci Skene) are also the creators of the online publication Shecky Magazine. A magazine “dedicated to the glorification of standup comedy.”

City Slicker/Country Boy
Tom Simmons is somewhat a rarity in this world, having been born in New York City then raised in the south. With this odd combo as a childhood, he was destined to become a comedian. Simmons’ wide range of life experiences, many deriving from his travels in a motor home with his wife from gig to gig, have given him more than enough material for comedy that audiences everywhere can relate to. Tom's shows include his views on everything from politics and religion to the ridiculous aspects of everyday life. Make sure to catch Tom Simmons and his comedy RV when they roll into the Friggemall Complex for a sophomore appearance on the BOB&TOM show.

Frank Caliendo & Friends
Frank Caliendo is one of the most impressive impressionist working today. What makes him such a coveted talent is that the range of characters he can imitate is so vast. Few if any comedians can match Caliendo's versatility when it comes to performing as John Madden, Ted Knight, Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Al Pacino, Jim Rome and many more. He can pull these voices out in an instant and will often have the different characters involved in conversations with one another. Just listening on the radio, you'd swear the room was full of celebrities, but in fact, it's just Frank Caliendo, and his multiple personalities. Caliendo can be seen each week on the sketch comedy show MAD TV, and he regularly appears on the FOX Sports Network, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Special Offer - Frank Caliendo has just released a new comedy CD, Frank on the Radio, and for a limited time BOB&TOM listeners only can order this album and have it sent to their house with free shipping by clicking here.

He's With Busey
Comedian/writer/actor/magician Adam de la Pena has successfully turned his hobby of following (stalking) actor Gary Busey into a TV show. Adam now stars in Comedy Central’s new reality Series, I’m With Busey in which the always-unpredictable Gary Busey lets de la Pena follow him around and share in his wacky adventures. Whether they are walking through the desert looking for a “Magic Indian,” dressing up like women, or fighting each other with spears, its all just another normal day for Gary. I’m With Busey airs every Tuesday on Comedy Central

FACTOID - Working with Comedy Central is nothing new to de la Pena. He got his start as a writer on The Man Show, and then assisted the writing team on Crank Yankers.

The Best Part of Waking Up
Bob Zany is very excited that Tuesday is finally here, and that means it's time for a brand new edition of the
Zany Report. Though the report is usually very entertaining, and extremely funny... sometimes it's not (like last week). That's why Bob archives every edition of the Zany Report on BobZany.com. Now you can play Fix-the-Joke Baby, rewrite his jokes, and show him where he went wrong. While you're there, why not purchase the always-popular "Eat Salmon The Other Pink Meat," or "Papa Eat Now" shirts? They're perfect for changing oil, painting houses, and any other types of yard work.

STYX LIVE!

The story of Styx reads like that of a soap opera script. Breakups, arguments, reunions, success, death and almost anything else you can think of have been a part of the band's history. None of this has kept Styx from being a major influence in the music industry since the 70s. The band has released a number of platinum albums and is responsible for a number of mega-hits including
Lady, Come Sail Away and Mr. Roboto. Though their sound has changed almost as many times as their roster, people continue to flock to their concerts and buy their albums (most recently 2003's Cyclorama). Styx is currently traveling with other rock legends REO Speedwagon and Journey as part of the Classic Rock’s Main Event Tour. Fortunately, one of their stops includes a special live performance on the BOB&TOM Show.
