Jeff
Foxworthy?
Never Heard of Him
If you were to say that Jeff
Foxworthy made a good decision to leave his $30 thousand dollar a
year job to go into standup comedy, we sure wouldn’t argue with
you. Having taken his redneck brand of southern comedy into almost every
form of media imaginable, there aren’t many folks out there who
haven’t heard the phrase “you might be a redneck if…” Jeff
is the author of best selling books, the star of Ace Award winning comedy
specials, starred in his own sitcom (on two different networks), is the
first comedian to ever have an album go triple platinum, the host of
a weekly countdown radio show, and has a new sketch comedy show on the
way. Oh, and maybe you’ve heard of one of his other side projects,
the highly successful Blue
Collar Comedy Tour, which has spawned an album and a movie by the
same name.

Show
Me the Money
Rock n’ roll icon Eddie
Money has been making music and delivering it to his fans since back
in the mid 70's. Perhaps you’ve heard a few of his hits on the
radio over the years, songs like Two Tickets
To Paradise, Baby Hold On, Walk On Water, and Think
I'm In Love. But Eddie’s not content
to just live off his past success; he continues to be one of the hardest
working men in music. Playing an average of 150 shows a year, Eddie is
always on tour. He claims this is due to his legion of fans, the best,
most loyal following a musician could ask for. Along with recording over
a dozen albums, Money has also worked on numerous television and film
projects including Joe Dirt and The
Drew Carey Show.

Independence
Vague
Tim
Bedore's popular editorial, Vague
But True, is back for a third
installment this week. But this isn't just any ordinary
VBT, this is a very special 4th of July edition of the
feature. How is Bedore able to deliver so many columns
in such a short period of time? All we can figure is that
he must not do anything except sit at his keyboard all
day and type. It's all good though, as long as he keeps
us laughing. When he’s not busy sharing his Vague
But True tales, Bedore can be found performing his standup
comedy as part of the Four
Stand-up Dads comedy tour.

Super
Spy
Remember those great blockbuster
Bond films with multi-million dollar budgets, filled
with exotic locations, expensive cars and a ton of
high-tech gadgets? Forget about all of that stuff!!
A.J. Jamal's, new action comedy "Super-
Spy," is base on the true story of how a young
man goes to Hollywood to sell his fifty million-dollar
movie, titled "The Final Exit." After weeks
of frustration and rejection, Sherlock is forced to
raise the money and produce the film independently.
With the help of a (wannabe) filmmaker, Slick Mango,
they are only able to raise $6,800.00. In addition
to their financial woes, something happens that puts
a dangerous spin on their filmmaking efforts and takes
them on a very funny and suspenseful roller coaster
ride. View
the trailer!

The
Battle of Troy
Troy Davis basis
his comedy on his own life experiences, which is good, because
this way he knows nobody else is stealing his act. As a middle-aged
man, former bricklayer and father of a gay son and two teenage
daughters, Troy has a lot of material to work with, and it's
relatable to everyone in the audiences. Troy's comedy is
clean, funny, and original, and if you mix that in with his
instantly likable stage presence, you’ve got yourself
a show that’s hard not to enjoy.

Economopoulos,
Costaki Economopoulos
Comedian Costaki Economopoulos'
humor has been described as smart, pointed, hip, sharp, insightful, socially
relevant, and gut-laugh funny and hes been described as a casually
brilliant joke philosopher. Just look at his business card, it's
all right there. Aside from standup comedy, Costaki is still looking
for a full time staff writing position on a sitcom, so if anybody knows
a guy, make sure to give him a call (he's in the book). But until
that day comes, the comedian with the biggest name in comedy is keeping
busy with other projects, such as performing at the Montreal Comedy Festival
this summer, including an appearance at the much ballyhooed showcase
on July 23.

More
Bedore
Now that Tim Bedore's
popular editorial, Vague But True,
has become a regular feature on the BOB&TOM show, we can't seem to
get enough. We’re convinced Tim does nothing but sit at his keyboard
and write because he’s back for a second time this week to deliver
another installment of VBT. Sometimes the topics of his columns are taken
directly from Tim's own life experiences, like on Tuesday when he talked
about having to deal with the growing number of annoying people in the
world. Other times the subject matter is ripped directly from the headlines
of the daily news, but no matter where Bedore finds his inspiration,
the result is always good clean fun. When he’s not busy writing,
Bedore can be found performing his standup comedy as part of the Four
Stand-up Dads comedy tour.

Gentlemen,
Stuff Your Faces!
Since 1916, people have been flocking
to Coney Island, NY every 4th of July to see the annual display
of gluttony known as Nathan's
Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. Hundreds
of competitors from around the world fight for the rights to
walk away with the coveted Mustard Yellow Championship Belt.
It's the World Cup of competitive eating, and what's even better
is that it's recognized by the International
Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE). Richard
Shea, president of the IFOCE says
that the "sport" of competitive eating has been growing
in popularity for years, and this event, the first of its kind,
still ranks among the most prestigious. The American record
for most hot dogs eaten during a competition is 28, but that
mark is well short of the world record held by the dominator
of the sport, Takeru Kobayashi of Japan, who can polish off
50 1/2 dogs and buns in a mere 12 minutes.

Days
of Thunder meets Days of Our Lives
We all know that a NASCAR race can be dramatic, but Casey
Mears is taking the sport one step further. Mears (along with his
No. 41 Target Dodge) will be making a special guest appearance on NBC’s
top rated daytime soap opera, Days
of Our Lives. Playing
himself, Mears will be seen racing in a fictional NEXTEL Cup Series race
to help Philip Kiriakis persuade Shawn Brady to return home by placing
an ad on the race car. It sounds like a reasonable enough plan, for a
soap that is. Mears is no stranger to the Hollywood scene, seeing as
how he got his first acting gig on Party of Five at
the age of five. He also just finished filming two episodes of the new
FX series NASCAR
Drivers 360. Though this is only his second year in the NASCAR
NEXTEL Cup Series, Mears currently ranks in the top 20 in the standings
with six top-10 finishes already this season.

Hello?
Sweeney-San
If you ask him, or check out his media
kit, Mark
Sweeney will tell you he's a "professional comedian," even
though his credits also include acting roles in Boston
Public, The Visitor, and Days
of Our Lives. Along with those
TV programs, Sweenz has also starred in several independent
films which leads us to believe he's done a lot of porn.
The four years he spent in the US Marines were forgettable,
either that or he just can't remember them. Though his
military history is a bit fuzzy, he's constantly being
reminded that at some point he attended college, which
is why he's still on the run from the student loan collectors.
Side Note -
Sweeney's bit below is the one that Chick got his quick
'hello' from. Listen for it in the piece and you'll find
yourself doing it the rest of the day.
