The
Legend Of
Ron Burgandy
He went back to school and joined a fraternity in Old
School and journeyed from the North Pole to New York City in Elf,
but Will
Ferrell is making his biggest move yet by time warping back
to the 70’s in his new film Anchorman.
Since he first came to the public's attention as a cast member on Saturday
Night Live (where he earned two Emmy nominations), Ferrell has
become one of Hollywood’s biggest and most sought after movie stars.
His ability to morph himself into almost any type of character and complete
willingness to make a total ass of himself has helped turn Ferrell into
a huge Box Office draw. In Anchorman, Ferrell
plays Ron Burgundy, San Diego’s top newsman, who’s perfect
hair and mustache are pitted against the area's first female co-anchor.
The worst part for Ron is, they both work for the same station. Though
the pompous and moronic Burgundy is dead set against the idea at first,
he and his lovely new news partner (Christina Applegate) turn from enemies
to lovers in no time. Anchorman opens Friday,
July 9 in theaters everywhere.
FACTOID -
You may not believe it, but in Anchorman it's the hair on Will
Ferrell's head that is fake. The mustache is 100% real.

John
Rathbone
John
Rathbone is a comedian who brings a ton of talent and
loads of experience to the stage with him every time he performs.
And while it may get crowded up there with all that luggage,
people have been finding his headlining act exceptionally
funny for over 20 years. It doesn't matter that he doesn't
have the sex appeal of a Brad Pitt, John's got charm, humor,
and a ton of experience on his side, and really what more
can you ask for. Rathbone became an actor at age 6, was a
debate champion in college and has been a successful standup
comedian since ’1981, performing thousands of shows
all across the country.

Tim
O'Rourke
Fans of the popular ABC sitcom The Drew
Carey Show will instantly recognize comedian Tim
O’Rourke as the wisecracking character, "Tim
the Bartender," Those of you who didn’t watch the show will
have absolutely no clue who that is. You may have also seen Tim (the
comedian, not the bartender) performing his standup comedy on a number
of other shows including Half Hour Comedy
Hour and Stand-Up
Spotlight. Tim’s act is a mixture of
witty observations and soothing comedy songs all of which are accompanied
by his trusty guitar.

Daniel
Tosh
Shares His Thoughts
Comedian Daniel Tosh got
his start hosting a late night talk show down in South Beach where he
would interview/ make fun of the gorgeous models living in the area.
Though it sounds like a rough line of work, Tosh actually enjoyed it.
But he gave it up to pursue bigger and better things out on the road,
hoping that eventually it would land him some acting gigs and maybe another
talk show with a bigger desk and a larger audience. Since then, standup
comedy has become Toshs primary line of work (and what got him
on The Late Show
with David Letterman four times) but hell still accept the
occasional acting gig, like the one he got starring in a four-part Taco
Bell commercial campaign. In just a short amount of time, Tosh has become
a mainstay on the college standup circuit, is a highly requested headliner
in comedy clubs across the country and just made his debut on The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Coach
Warren
The last time comedian Greg
Warren was in our studio, he shared a number of stories about his
family. The one concerning his uncle Leo, and the only good advice he
ever got out of him, remains a favorite around the Friggemall building
due to the catchy sound effects and gestures that were included. Listen
to the audio below and see if you have the willpower to resist playing
along. Greg is an up and coming standup comedian who’s been featured
on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and
in clubs across the country. He’s also a former NCAA All-American
in wrestling and has stated on many occasions that if things don’t
work out in comedy, he’ll head back to school and coach the sport.
With the way things are going though, we don't see Greg with a whistle
around his neck any time soon.

Here's
a Tip From Your Uncle Lar
Uncle
Larry Reeb is the guy you do your best to keep the
kids away from at the family reunions. Everybody has
that relative, the one that wanders around the party,
dispensing unsolicited, and often frightening advice
to anyone and everyone within ear shot. And don't think
you can find a topic he doesn't have an opinion on; you
could be discussing the joys of raising children, nipple
piercing, your last adulterous affair or even football.
and Uncle Lar's still got a 'helpful' tip for you. "It's
a sick world, and I'm a happy guy," says Reeb. "If
this were a perfect world, I'd be unemployed." |

Don't
Make Her Madigan
St. Louis native, Kathleen
Madigan has starred in her own HBO and Comedy Central standup
specials, done television pilots, reported for ESPN2, has appeared
on the Tonight Show 12
times, won the American Comedy Award for Best Female
Club Comic, and has filled in for Kristi Lee at the B&T
news desk. With all these credentials, would anyone be surprised
if she ended up being the Last
Comic Standing. Kathleen is a veteran comedienne
with nearly 15 years of experience. She's one of eight comics
still in the competition on Jay Mohr's NBC reality series.
She's lasted this long but will Madigan be able to make it
to the final five? You'll just have to watch to find out.

Gunner Salute
Since BOB&TOM are enjoying an extended holiday weekend (it pays to
have your name on the show), our resident part-time talent will once
again be sitting in to host another heart warming episode of "The
Best of the BOB&TOM Show." Dave Gunn (AKA "Gunner")
has been a part of the show for years and relishes any opportunity he
gets to fill in an empty seat whenever a cast member (or the entire show)
is absent. The always reliable Mike/Mark... whatever will also be in
the studio running the board to aid Gunner so that he can concentrate
solely on his hosting duties. So sit back and enjoy a day of 'catch up,'
as we play the highlights you might have missed the first time around.
Remember, if you haven't heard it, it's new to you!
FACTOID - Aside from his beautiful baby girls,
Gunner says his greatest achievement in life is slamming a
fifth of Jim Beam during side one of AC/DC's "Back in
Black."
