Calm, Cool, Collected
Comedian Jimmy Pardo demands respect, and maybe some day he’ll get it. Even though he’s one of the finest standup comedians working today and he's got a number of impressive credentials on his resume, Jimmy still feels like audiences, other comedians and even BOB&TOM don’t always give him the love he deserves. Though "the kid" is great on the radio, his face is the real money maker which is why you need to see Pardo perform live when the opportunity presents itself. As comfortbable on screen as he is on stage, Pardo has made a number of TV appearences including The Surreal Life, Funny Money, Movies at Our House, a very memorable episode of The Tonight Show and in in the feature film, The Godfather of Green Bay.

Songs of Inspiration
Comedian Sean Morey's songs usually contain very heartfelt and well thought out messages. His tune Dear Santa examines the greed and poverty of today's society and his The Man Song discusses the power struggle between the sexes. Even On the Internet is all about how hard it is to find love in today's society, even though we've recently found out Morey is a frequent visitor to Internet dating sites. The messages may not sound as profound when accompanied by his banjo (or his guitar which he plays to make sound like a banjo), but if you can get past that, these songs might possibly teach you a little about life, love and even yourself.

One Man's Perspective
The name Keith McGill sounds as if it should belong to a country singer, but upon further research we discovered the man is actually a talented standup comedian. Common mistake. Keith may not wear a cowboy hat, but he does bring a quick-witted, lively, intelligent slant to comedy, and you may recognize his voice as the "echo" from the Tom Mabe prank call about the faulty cell phone. During his shows, McGill offers his own insights on being as a black man in America, however, his humor is more of a commentary on all facets of life, not just one sector of society. This way everyone can enjoy.

Homer Simpson Goes to the Movies
Homer Simpson is just your average suburban dad, living in the town of Springfield and raising three children.  He works at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, enjoys putting down a few Duff Beers at Moe’s Tavern and has a wonderful relationship with his wife, Marge.  Though that may not sound exciting, this average Joe is also considered to be one of the greatest television characters of all time.  He’s been a fixture on FOX television as a part of The Simpsons for nearly two decades, but this Friday, he’ll go where even long time fans of the show never thought he’d end up, on the big screen. On July 27, along with Bart, Lisa, Marge, Maggie, Ned Flanders, Chief Wiggum, Principal Skinner, Mr. Burns, Mr. Smithers, Nelson, Comic Book Guy and a cast of thousands, Homer Simpson takes over theaters across America in The Simpsons Movie.  But before then, he’s promised to call in and give us the lowdown on his new project.

Major League Comedy
When his promising baseball career was cut short due to injury, Greer Barnes followed his other dream, to make people laugh.  And though he wasn’t playing ball in front of thousands, after only a few years in stand-up comedy, he was on stage in packed comedy clubs across the country.  Greer has been seen on Late Night with David Letterman, HBO, MTV, Chappelle’s Show, and Premium Blend.  Oh, and he was able to live out a bit of his sports dream when he was featured alongside Kevin Costner in the baseball flick, For the Love of the Game.

Whatchu Want?
If you watch comedy competitions on television, there’s a very good chance you’ve seen comedian Geoff Brown perform. Brown won the Star Search comedy competition in 1994, was featured on seasons one and three of Last Comic Standing, was a performer on Spy TV and has popped up on a number of sitcoms over the years. Before he entered standup comedy, Geoff was a member of the US marines, and though his fellow soldiers loved the way he kept cracking everyone, his superiors thought his talents would be better utilized as a civilian, in places where he had no access to heavy artillery.

Secret Stories From His Public Journal
Whether on the phone or in the studio, we’ve been treated, for longer than we can remember, to comedian Mike Birbiglia's writings, also known as his Secret Public Journal. In these musings, Mike's covered everything including his infatuation with pizza, problem with sleepwalking, brother Joe, fear of bears and alter ego "Sleepy Carl." Will this next entry cover one of these favorite topics, or might it be something completely new? Only Mike knows for sure. Well, until he reads it to a national audience, that is.

He's No Epidemiologist
Former civil engineer Jeff Caldwell is known to people far and wide as a clean, clever comedian with one of the brightest standup acts around. From the daily news to the daily grind, Caldwell covers a variety of subjects with a dry delivery and sharp wit. It doesn’t matter whether he’s on stage, at a corporate gig or on television, Caldwell has the ability to bring audiences to tears, and we mean that in the good way. He’s recently been seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham. Oh, and he's also just put together a new comedy CD, I'm No Epidemiologist, which is available now at The BOB&TOM online store!

Tommy The Kid
Tommy Johnagin began his stand-up career at the ripe young age of 18. Then, to please his parents even more, at the age of 21 he thought it'd be an even better idea to drop out of college. But how could they argue this life choice when their son obviously had a gift for humor, and the fact he promised to find a way to pay them back for his six semesters of college. While on stage (and hopefully on the air) Tommy doesn’t curse, but what he does doe is
find the humor in his life and the people he meets. If it's funny, Tommy will say it.

Costaki Talk
If the name didn't tip you off, comedian Costaki Economopoulos comes from a Greek background, which is why it's not surprising he's been described as a “joke philosopher.” And we're positive he's not the only one saying that. Known for his clever writing, Costaki's punch lines have been heard on
The Tonight Show, BET, and MTV. In other news, he's released his first comedy CD, C'mon It's Jokes, and is dating the beautiful and funny comedienne, Caroline Rhea.

Vague But True
Whether he's in the studio, on the phone, or live on his special ISDN line, comedian Tim Bedore joins BOB&TOM every Wednesday to bring us a new edition of his popular weekly feature, Vague But True. In these musings, Tim talks about whatever is on his mind at the time, whether that be politics, life lessons, spring breaks, or stories on how animals are trying to wipe out the human race. But no matter the topic, folks all over the country are glued to their radios waiting to hear what Bedore has to say.

Tales of a Diaper Diva
While up on stage, comedienne Patti Vasquez is more like a close personal friend sharing humorous stories than she is a joke teller. Call her act 'comedy with heart' or call it hysterically funny, Vasquez entertains audiences with her charming perspectives on politics, relationships and growing up in an Irish-Mexican-American family. Along with her storytelling, Patti keeps her audiences in stitches by pointing out the oddities in the everyday events and situations that anyone can relate to. Recently when Patti became a mother she found a whole new source of material, so much in fact that she wrote and starred in her second one-woman show, Mamacita: Tales of a Diaper Diva, which tackles all the joys that go along with motherhood.

Summer Break
Bill Scheft writes monologues for The Late Show with David Letterman, wrote "The Show" in Sports Illustrated, and is the author of the highly acclaimed novel, The Ringer, but right now he's first and foremost a sports fan. And while it's true there is a bit of a vacuum in the sports world with the World Series still months away and the NBA, NFL and NHL on break, Bill is still able to find the humor in racing, golf, competitive eating and or even the police blotter. Oh, and since there is nothing to watch on TV, you'll have plenty of time to read, so why not pick up Bill's Thurber Prize nominated novel, Time Won't Let Me (now in paperback).

Southern Fried Chick
When former school bus driver turned standup comedian Etta May enters a room, you know you're in for a treat. It might be her 250lb frame, horned rimmed glasses, polyester pants and trademark floral blouse that give you the giggles at first, but it'll be her off the wall stories about her failed truck driver husband Delbert and three mischievous children that you'll walk away from the club howling about. Etta first discovered she was destined to perform comedy in front of large groups of people when she was forced to entertain a rowdy bingo crowd after the "ball sucker" got stuck. Since then she's appeared on Oprah, MTV and is set to appear on CMT as part of the Southern Fried Chicks Comedy Tour.

Listen Up, It's Bob Zany
The very classy suit wearing, cigar smoking comedian Bob Zany is once again set to deliver his eagerly anticipated Zany Report, and because he's had over a full week to prepare, we're sure Zany will be bringing his A-material for what is sure to be the biggest, funniest, most spectacular report, and guest appearance of all time (no pressure, Bob). If for some reason you aren’t exhausted from laughing when it’s all said and done, there's always BobZany.com where you can test your hand at punch line writing by playing Fix The Joke Baby. Pick up one of those "Salmon: The Other Pink Meat" T-shirts while you're at it.

The Best Looking aspect of The Bill Engvall Show
The strikingly beautiful actress Nancy Travis got her start in “show business as a stage actor in off-Broadway shows.  Here she worked alongside some of theaters top names before eventually making her way out to Hollywood where she soon began a career in both film and television.  Her first foray into film came in the blockbuster Three Men and a Baby, which was followed by a number of other movies.  On the small screen, Travis became a regular on Ted Danson’s hit show Becker, and in the sitcom Almost Perfect.  This Tuesday, Nancy returns to television on the new TBS sitcom, The Bill Engvall Show, starring Bill Engvall.  Nancy plays Bill’s witty, loving wife, Susan, who tries her best to keep the family in line.  The Bill Engvall Show airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on TBS.

The Doctor is In
Bob & Tom PSYCHOtherapist, and long time friend of the show, Dr. Will Miller became popular for his theories on classic television and how those shows reflect on our own society and psychology. In his Book, Why We Watch, Dr. Will discussed everything from Gilligan's Island to Scooby Doo and how those reruns were actually the path to personal peace. Then in his next work, Refrigerator Rights, Dr. Will took an in depth look at what friendship in America is all about by examining how individuals give out Refrigerator Rights. In other words, how many friends do you have that are allowed to just walk right in your home and start rummaging through you're ice box? When listening to Dr. Will on our show, it's like watching the Dr. Phil show, only with good advice, and entertainment value.

Inspired by Failure
At some point in their life, every artist must find the inspiration needed to get themselves in gear. For comedian Stan Chen, it was witnessing an absolutely abysmal standup comedy performance during a New Years Eve party. That fateful evening, one hack's ungodly attempt at comedy helped turn an ordinary man into a successful standup comedian. From that point on, Chen decided to dedicate his life to making people laugh and he began doing so by competing in world class comedy competitions and landing gigs in comedy clubs throughout the Midwest. According to Chen, he lives in a "space outside the box" of the typical standup comedian. Meaning he somehow manages to juggle life as a family man, commercial airline pilot and comedian. Most comics have a hard time just getting out of bed in the afternoon.

Laughs Through the Ages
In the world of the BOB&TOM Show, Scott Dunn has become famous for his celebrity roasts and the ability to turn any event in history, no matter how obscure, into a comedy routine. So far he's skewered Ben Franklin, the Burr Hamilton dual, the Louisiana Purchase, George Washington, first Thanksgiving, and even the funeral of Abraham Lincoln. Now each Monday, Scott surprises us with a new history lesson in which you're guaranteed to laugh and might even learn a little something too.
