The Funnier Half
of Cease and Desist

Kyle Cease began his comedy career at age seven by negotiating a deal with his second grade teacher. If he would cease goofing off during class, she would give him five minutes at the end of the day to entertain his fellow students. Normally this type of behavior leads to a life of crime, but fortunately for all involved, in Kyle's case it turned into a profession. It didn't take long for him to realize that his humor appealed to more than second graders. At age 18 Kyle became the youngest headlining comedian in the Pacific Northwest, where he performed at numerous colleges, clubs and corporate events. After winning the Giggles Comedy Competition at age 20, Cease landed his first movie role in the film 10 Things I Hate About You. He followed that up by starring in several national commercials spots and as "the slow clapper" in the teen comedy spoof, Not Another Teen Movie.

Pat & Todd: Odd Couple
Two of our favorite comedians will be stopping by the Friggemall complex together to share with us a brand new tune, and from what we hear, it's going to be a duet. Our resident lady killer Pat Godwin (see C'est La Vie) and red-headed alcoholic Todd Yohn (see Walkin' To The Liquor Store) are teaming up to bring us a song about what it's like to be a pair of comedians with only each other to count on. To hear some of their individual work, check out Pat and Todd's VIP Audio Pages.

Reporting From the Dinning Room
Now that Tim Bedore's popular segment, Vague But True, has become a regular feature on the BOB&TOM show, we can't wait to find out what the topic of each new installment will be. The last time we talked to Tim, he shared with us his epiphany of how he could save Major League Baseball by placing himself in the Chicago Cubs bullpen and winning a World Series. It's actually a pretty simple plan, when you think about it. Whether the inspiration for his editorials is ripped from the headlines or based on his outlandish fantasies, you know Bedore will be reporting them each week from his dinning room, comfortably seated in a big blue beanbag chair. Bedore is currently performing his standup as part of the Four Stand-up Dads comedy tour.

Enter At Your Own Risk

Harland Williams has a knack for landing memorable, out of the ordinary characters in films. He was the urine chugging cop in Dumb & Dumber, a prison bitch pot-head in Half Baked, a deranged hitchhiker in There’s Something About Mary and a cross dressing college student in Sorority Boys. What you may not know about Williams is that he’s also a hilarious stand up comedian who's onstage persona is every bit as bizarre as his movie roles. With an unusual voice, goofy facial expressions and whacked-out sense of humor, Harland has become a star on television, stage and screen. You can also find Harland's work in bookstores, but not in the aisle you may be thinking. He's the author and illustrator of a number of children's books including Likety Split and The Kid With Too Many Pets.

Back on the Grid
Comedian Drew Hastings took himself off the grid for a few months by living in a shack in the middle of a forest, and it seems to have done him some good. He made his long awaited comeback on what turned out to be one of the best BOB&TOM shows of all time, although most of the credit has to go to Survivor's Rupert also being in the studio. Though Hastings didn't win a million dollars on a reality TV show, he did add to the fun that morning, which comes as no surprise with Drew's track record of past visits. No one else has ever shown up to the studio wearing a sash, riding a horse or driving an old, boat-sized automobile that was purchased on eBay. Drew's currently using that automobile, which he's dubbed the "Jew Canoe," to travel across the country to perform his killer standup routine in comedy clubs everywhere. This week, you can find him headlining at the Improv in Pittsburgh, PA.

Foxx Trot
Actor Jamie Foxx hit it big when he landed a starring role on the hit sketch comedy show
In Living Color, but when the show went off the air, his workload didn’t drop off at all. Foxx was first given his own TV show (known as The Jamie Foxx Show), however it wasn’t long before he made the jump to the big screen. His credits include lead roles in the films Booty Call, Any Given Sunday, Ali and the new action/thriller Collateral where, get this, Tom Cruise actually plays the bad guy. In his new film, Foxx is an unfortunate cab driver that gets caught up in a night of murder and mayhem after he picks up a professional hitman for a fare. Collateral opens this Friday in Theaters everywhere.

FACTOID – Though not many people know it, Jamie Foxx actually started his career as a standup comedian performing at open mic nights.

FACTOID – Jamie Foxx is also an accomplished singer. He released a solo album in 1994, sang the theme song of his movie Any Given Sunday, and was recently featured in the hit song, Slow Jams by Twista

Comedy Creed
Outrageous, high energy and refreshingly new are three adjectives that could be used to describe a new soft drink, but in the context of this bio, we are referring to the standup comedy of Ben Creed. This New York native blasts onto the stage each night with a point to make and does so by delivering his jokes with a quick wit and charisma that keeps the audience rolling in the aisles (where applicable) all night long. Ben’s been featured on several cable networks including comedy specials on HBO, Showtime and A&E.

Here's Your Sign!
It wasn't all that long ago that Bill Engvall stopped by the Friggemall building with his friends from the the monstrously successful Blue Collar Comedy Tour. And though the tour may be over, the show must go on. Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy are now teaming up on the brand new sketch comedy show, Blue Collar TV. But before the Blue Collar thing took off, Engvall was a very successfully standup comedian and recording artist in his own right. His Here’s Your Sign album released back in ’96 stayed at #1 on the comedy charts for an impressive 15 weeks, a feat he's hoping his new DVD release, Here’s Your Sign: Live can duplicate.

Back to the Brickyard
He may not be a “good ol’ boy” but Jeff Gordon is definitely among the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time. Love him or hate him, Gordon always seems to be near the front of the pack, regardless of the race or track. He's set countless records in the sport, has won all kinds of money, and is only the third driver in history to become a four time Winston Cup Champion. Going down his list of career highlights is like going though a record book because not only is he one of the most prolific prizewinners in NASCAR history he's also the youngest driver to have earned some of the sport's highest honors. Gordon is the youngest driver to ever win the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400, and is the youngest to earn 50 career wins. This weekend, Gordon and his #24 Dupont Chevrolet Monte Carlo, along with the rest of the Rainbow Warriors will try to add one more title to his already overcrowded trophy shelf as he attempts to win an unprecedented fourth Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Still Standing
Though he didn’t begin his career as a standup comic, there is absolutely nothing that could ever make Alonzo Bodden give it up now. Once he took the stage and got a taste of what it was like to entertain, Bodden was hooked and has not looked back. Before comedy, Alonzo was an airline mechanic, working on everything from Learjets to Stealth Bombers. It was during one of his stints as a trainer that Alonzo found he could leave a crowd in stitches without even having to pick up a wrench. All he need was a little motivation to turn his natural comedic talent into a career in standup… so being fired was exactly what the doctor ordered. Since then, Bodden has been touring the country performing in clubs, as well as traveling around the globe with the USO. According to Alonzo, this means he is the only guy who’s both built bombers and performed for their pilots. Alonzo is one of the last six comics (including friends of the show Tammy Pescatelli, Kathleen Madigan and John Heffron) who remain in the competition on Last Comic Standing which airs in prime time Tuesdays on NBC.

Don't Mess With Tammy, She's Got Family
Good friend of the show Tammy Pescatelli is getting some big time exposure now that she's among the final six competitors remaining on NBC's reality show Last Comic Standing. Tammy and her “titonies” played a major part in how things played out in the Hollywood house where she's used a divide and conquer technique to eliminate five of the other comedians (but most importantly, Todd Glass.) Now that it's up to the American voters to see which comedian wins the competition, Tammy's got to make sure she brings her A-game every time she takes the stage. But as we all know, that won't be a problem for this Sicilian beauty. Before she was a reality TV star, Tammy Pescatelli appeared on the Tonight Show and she recently spent time with the USO entertaining our troops overseas.

The Timeless Music of Tim Cavanagh
He may have given up trying to keep his songs under one minute in length, but this new extended format has opened up new creative doors for comedian Tim Cavanagh. Now with all this extra time on his hands, Cavanagh can expand on each of his song's selected subjects, finding the perfect punch lines, and creating even more memorable lyrics for us to sing along with. Looking through the archives, it’s obvious that Tim is able to write a song on almost any topic, so we never know what we're going to get when he picks up his guitar and begins to play. If you enjoyed his comedy tunes when they were a mere sixty seconds in length, just imagine how much harder you'll be laughing when he throws out the stopwatch. We're guessing it'll be pure ecstasy.
VIP members can get their Cavanagh fix anytime by clicking over to the Tim Cavanagh Audio Page!

It's Bob Zany

The legendary Bob Zany is once again set to deliver his eagerly anticipated Zany Report and we can barely contain our excitement. It's a Great Day!
You know it's a great day when Paul Thorn is scheduled to be on the BOB&TOM show. Thorn's an artist/singer/songwriter and ex-boxer so when he sings his exceptionally popular tune about whooping somebody's ass, he knows exactly what he's talking about. Though It's a Great Day... has become a classic and is the Margaritaville of Thorn's musical library, most of his tunes are much prettier and soulful. Listen to Paul Thorn’s gospel inspired music and you'll end up either laughing or crying by the end of the song, maybe even a little of both. But no matter which emotion he brings out, you'll be tapping your foot and shaking your head along with his songs about life, heartache and just plain living life to the fullest. Living is something Thorn's done a lot of during his time on Earth. He fought middleweight Champ Roberto Duran on national television, has written songs with John Bon Jovi and Timothy B. Schmidt of the Eagles and lists skydiving as one of his favorite hobbies.
