Moody McCarthyA Guy Who Likes Jokes
Moody McCarthy thinks about jokes constantly and fortunately for audiences, he’s enjoys sharring them with others too. With a career that spans two decades, Moody has built up a solid resume including Last Comic Standing, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Early Show and the Style Network. Moody has become a favorite around the country for his jokes on being an uncle, turning down women with raspy voices, jumping time zones and a few more topics we really don’t need to list here. But if you’re really curious, you can find out for yourself by purchasing his new CD, The Night It Went Well on his website.

Little Timmy Cavanagh
Tim Cavanagh is a man who can come up with a song about anything, which is a skill that comes in quite handy when he sits down to write. Some of his topics are ripped right from the headlines (Yam-boy) while others come from his own demented mind (99 Dead Baboons), the calendar (Equinox), or his own life experiences (Comedian on Vacation). But no matter the subject matter, each one is accompanied by his often under appreciated guitar stylings, and his backup singers known as the Cavanettes.

Going Commercial
When Tom McTigue left Seattle for Los Angeles all those years ago, he was interested in finding work in show business.  Well, he found it.  McTigue quickly became a favorite in the comedy scene performing on HBO and Showtime as well and a number of appearances on Evening at the Improv.  Along with standup, McTigue found work as an actor appearing in a few major motion pictures, but where he really found his niche was in commercial acting.  If his face looks familiar it’s probably because you’ve seen him in over 200 national TV campaigns.

FACTOID – Tom McTigue has been appearing on-air non-stop in commercials for an amazing 18 consecutive years.

Vince MartinMeet Vince Martin
Comedian Vince Martin wants to meet people, and being a road comic gives him the perfect opportunity to do just that.  And while he does enjoy stopping to talk to anyone who takes the time to come out to his shows, the people he’s really interested in meeting are comedians who can help him find high paying gigs, hot chicks, easy chicks, or any combination of the three.  If that sounds appealing to you and you think you’d like to get to know Vince  a little better, look for him in your local comedy clubs or on a Greyhound bus as he’s traveling from show to show.

Cal RipkinBaseball's Iron Man
In 21 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, Cal Ripken, Jr. hit over 400 home runs, got over 3,000 hits while at the same time redefining the position of shortstop.  Oh, and here’s a little known fact, he also broke Lou Gehrig’s record for consecutive games played, appearing in 2,632 straight ballgames. Earlier this year, Ripken’s place in baseball history was solidified with his induction into the Hall of Fame. Cal received the 3rd highest percentage of votes in the halls history, and collected more votes than any other nominee ever.  In other news, President Bush recently named Cal to be a special envoy for the State Department and a Goodwill Ambassador for MLB. Cal's new book "Get In The Game" is available now at Amazon.com.

Judah FriedlanderThe World Champion
Comedian, character actor, and World Champion are just a few of the titles thrown around by Judah Friedlander.  While his claim of being the World Champion is up for debate, the other two credits are easy to verify.  Those who enjoy going to comedy clubs can see Judah and his stock of various hats whenever he comes to their town, but for those who don’t, you can also find him every Thursday night in the hit NBC sitcom, 30 Rock.  He’s also appeared in a number if independent films (for which he normally gets rave reviews) as well as blockbusters like Meet the Parents, Starsky & Hutch, Showtime and Zoolander.

Andi SmithSnowflake Head
Described as being both "the girl next door" and "the girl who hates the girl next door", Andi Smith often surprises audiences with her funny and original perspective on life. She claims to be a rarity among her female peers in comedy because her act has nothing to do with mammograms or adventures she's had with her cat. In fact, she doesn't even like cats. After graduating college, Andi Smith moved to St. Louis and found her true home was in comedy clubs, up on stage. Original and entertaining, Smith can find humor in everything from growing up in Wisconsin to ugly belts. This versatility is just one of the reasons Andi was prominently featured on the most recent season of NBC's Last Comic Standing.

Rob HaneyRob Haney Through
the Ages

Rob Haney has been a good friend of the show and a frequent visitor to the studio for many years, and over that period of time he's never thought it necessary to update his head shot. Obviously his thinking is "if it ain't broke..." Pictures aside, Rob is known to be an extremely funny guy, a wonderful joke teller, and most importantly, extremely cheap, something the guys enjoy pointing out every time he stops by. Astute listeners out there will recognize his voice from the famous Dog for Sale joke that appears on the album Gone Wild.

FACTOID - Rob Haney owns his own comedy club, Wileys, in Dayton, OH

geechy guySo Many Jokes, It's Not Even Funny
Most standup comedians are well-traveled, but Geechy Guy is taking things to a whole new level. Back in January, Geechy kicked off his "Every Station in the Nation" tour of BOB&TOM Show affiliate stations. This means if you're listening to BOB&TOM on the radio, this crazy Guy is headed to your town. Though Geechy knows where he’s going, he doesn’t always know when he'll get there, so make sure to keep checking back here for our up to the minute list of tour dates. We’ll also keep a running tab of all the places Geechy's already been, because we know some of you really enjoy looking at stuff like that.

Auggie's Got Something to Say
The ranting, raving comedian from Montana, Auggie Smith is heading back to the studio and you'd better believe he's entering the studio with his guns blazing. Because Aug finds his material in the absurdities of everyday people, situations and politics, he's never had a problem finding new targets on which to take aim . Be warned, if you listen to Smith's ranting long enough, you too will find yourself following "The Word of Aug." But is that really such a bad thing? Auggie has appeared on two previous B&T albums including Happy Hour, on which he talks about the time he had to drive his dad home from the bar when he was only 9 years old.

Fun With Sound Effects
Whether he's in the studio, on the phone, or on his special ISDN line live from his home, comedian Tim Bedore joins BOB&TOM every Wednesday to bring us a new edition of his popular weekly feature, Vague But True. In these musings, Tim talks about whatever is on his mind at the time, whether that be politics, life lessons, or stories on how animals are trying to wipe out the human race. But no matter the topic, folks all over the country are glued to their radios waiting to hear what Bedore has to say, and what sound effects he'll play. And if you happen to be one of those people, here's some good news, Tim's most popular pieces from the last few years have been compiled into a spectacular two-CD set, Vague But True, which is available now!

Costaki's Economonologue
Over the past few weeks, Costaki Economopoulos has been calling in to treat us to a new regular feature that for the longest time didn't have a name or a premise, but throes minor details have been fixed (maybe) as it's now known (at least for this week) as "The Economonologue." Rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it? Known for his clever writing, Costaki's able to take the things he sees and hears in everyday life and turn turn them into comedic observations you won't be able to believe you haven't thought of before. His punch lines have been heard on
The Tonight Show, BET, and MTV. In other news, he's released his first comedy CD, C'mon It's Jokes, and is dating the beautiful and funny comedienne, Caroline Rhea.

Songs of Inspiration
Comedian Sean Morey's songs usually contain very heartfelt and well thought out messages. His tune Dear Santa examines the greed and poverty of today's society and his The Man Song discusses the power struggle between the sexes. Even On the Internet is all about how hard it is to find love in today's society, even though we've recently found out Morey is a frequent visitor to Internet dating sites. The messages may not sound as profound when accompanied by his banjo (or his guitar which he plays to make sound like a banjo), but if you can get past that, these songs might possibly teach you a little about life, love and even yourself.

Mr. Game Show
Drew Carey has made a living as the beer drinking, joke telling, everyman of comedy.  With his black-framed glasses, buzz haircut and beefy build, Carey found a niche as the voice of the average guy.  Before long he took his shtick from stage to screen on the highly successful ABC sitcom, The Drew Carey Show, and later on the comedy game show, Who’s Line is It Anyway.  Though both of those programs have come and gone, Carey is once again putting his everyman charm and hosting prowess to good use on the new CBS game show, The Power of 10.  On the show Carey leads contestants through a game in which they only have to answer five questions in a row to win $10 Million.  In other news, Carey has also been named as Bob Barker’s replacement on the new season of the long-running game show, The Price is Right.

Bringing Down
the Big Game

John Feinstein is one of the most celebrated and enjoyed sports writers of all time, but now he's starting to show he works just as well in children's novels. In his new book, Cover-Up: Mystery at the Super Bowl, John revisits the crime solving kids from his first foray into fiction, Last Shot, only this time the action doesn't take place at the NCAA Final Four, it's going down at the biggest game of the year, The Super Bowl. They know that the entire offensive line of one of the teams have failed their drug tests and that the owner is trying to cover up the results. These two teens are sitting on the biggest sports scandal of the decade, but what they don't know is how they're going to prove it.

Southern Cross
When watching Amanda Cross perform on stage, you may feel as if you’ve found a new best friend. With her big smile, raspy voice and all too relatable comedy, you’ll find it hard to keep from laughing out loud.  After only one open mic night performance, Amanda was offered her first paying gig, and then became a favorite house emcee just as quickly.  These days she continues to rise through the comedy ranks, and will be making her first guest appearance on the BOB&TOM Show this Tuesday.

When His Jokes Break, You Fix Them
It’s time again for everyone’s favorite weekly feature, and only the approaching NFL season could possibly compare to the excitement it brings. Bob Zany, legendary standup comedian, Telethon Host and all around great guy, is ready to run the comedy gauntlet once again in hopes of getting the entire cast to laugh, at least once! And even if he can't complete this mission with his Zany Report alone, he'll also come prepared with a new installment of Fix the Joke, Baby to save the segment. Because as we know, things are always funnier when there's free stuff involved.

He's a Scat Man
Ask any artist (yes, that includes comedians) where they find their inspiration, and they'll tell you that it can come from almost anywhere. Comedian John Evans found out his muse lives in various thrift stores scattered across the country. Evans often spends an excessive amount of time wandering down aisles of discarded vintage apparel looking for more than just items to add to his snazzy wardrobe, these shopping sprees are actually a metaphor for how he develops his comedy act. Evans comes up with his material in the same way he walks through a thrift store, taking old, beaten down, uninspired topics and turning them into his own premium jokes. For example, as far as we know, nobody else has been able to turn the age-old art of scatting into a brilliant comedy routine, that is until John decided to scat AC/DC's Back in Black (which can be found on the album Donkey Show.)

A Laugh From the Past
In the world of the BOB&TOM Show, Scott Dunn has become famous for his celebrity roasts and the ability to turn any event in history, no matter how obscure, into a comedy routine. So far he's skewered Ben Franklin, the Burr Hamilton dual, the Louisiana Purchase, George Washington, first Thanksgiving, and even the funeral of Abraham Lincoln. Now each Monday, Scott surprises us with a new history lesson in which you're guaranteed to laugh and might even learn a little something too.

Secret Stories From His Public Journal
Whether on the phone or in the studio, we’ve been treated, for longer than we can remember, to comedian Mike Birbiglia's writings, also known as his Secret Public Journal. In these musings, Mike's covered everything including his infatuation with pizza, problem with sleepwalking, brother Joe, fear of bears and alter ego "Sleepy Carl." Will this next entry cover one of these favorite topics, or might it be something completely new? Only Mike knows for sure. Well, until he reads it to a national audience, that is.
