A Little Bit of Everything
Two-time Emmy Award winner, Academy Award winner and four time Oscar

so exciting. After appearing in such great films as Broadcast

the TNT drama, Saving
Grace where she plays Grace Hanadarko,
a tormented, fast living Oklahoma City police detective who, makes
self-destruction a way of life. Her world almost comes crashing
down around her when she hits a man along the side of the road,

On
the Phone
With Dr. Wolf
Dr.
David Wolf, our resident expert on everything outer
space, is a decorated member of NASA, but has done quite
a bit on his home planet too. Wolf holds 11 US patents,
has more than 20 awards for three-dimensional tissue engineering
technologies and has earned several inventors' awards.
Oh, and if that's not enough, he's also got a bridge named
after him. But there is one dream he has yet to fulfill.
We know that deep down Dr. Wolf has secretly always wished
he'd become a DJ, so we've invited him to call in and give
us the low down on what's going on this
week at NASA. This goes to show that you don't have
to be a rocket scientist to do radio, but it sure doesn't
hurt.

Big City Boy
A native New Yorker, Joe
DeVito grew up on the mean streets of Manhattan before his parents
thought better of it and moved him to the suburbs. It was hear
he was instilled with his love of food, his wholesome values and fondness
for storytelling. We’re not sure where he picked up his knack
for standup comedy. DeVito has been featured on NBC’s Last
Comic Standing, Comedy Central’s Live
at Gotham and has written for FUSE, MTV, Stuff
Magazine and the documentary Super-Size
Me.

Comedy 101
According to Mike
Veneman, if you had lived his life, you’d have to either go
into standup comedy or kill yourself. And since he’s an abject
coward, the only choice he had was to get up on stage. Before he
became a full-time comedian he was a professional student. As an
undergrad he changed his major seventeen times before deciding on Public
Administration, and then got his master’s degree in Sport Administration. Knowing
that he could never survive outside of a college campus, Mike thought
about becoming a professor. Luckily for students everywhere, he
choose comedy instead. But he never game up his ambition to teach
which is why he’s developed Comedy 101, a course for up and coming
comedians. |

Costaki's Economonologue
Over the past few weeks, Costaki
Economopoulos has been calling in to treat us to a new regular feature
that for the longest time didn't have a name or a premise, but throes
minor details have been fixed (maybe) as it's now known (at least for
this week) as "The Economonologue." Rolls right off the tongue,
doesn't it? Known for his clever writing, Costaki's able to take the
things he sees and hears in everyday life and turn turn them into comedic
observations you won't be able to believe you haven't thought of before.
His punch lines have been heard on The
Tonight Show, BET, and MTV. In other news,
he's released his first comedy CD, C'mon
It's Jokes, and is dating the beautiful
and funny comedienne, Caroline Rhea. |

A Little Bit of Everything
Many comedians use their own lives as the material for their acts, and Spanky
Brown in no different. But when it comes to Spanky, his background
is so diverse he should never have a hard time finding jokes. He’s
been a car salesman, advertising executive, married, divorced, married
again, divorced again, served in the military, is a father and is the
son of a preacher. Brown has been featured on BET’s Comic
View, The Speed Channel and on satellite radio. |

Comedy Club House
When Mark
Morfey made it as a PGA Golf Professional, you might
have thought he had it all, but then, you would have been
wrong. While golfing was one of his passions, he was still
missing the thrill that only telling jokes in front of
a live audience could provide. That left him with only
one choice, become a standup comedian. Now Mark is both
a Golf Pro and a standup comic, and loves his two professions
equally (unless one starts paying better, then he has no
problem picking a favorite). The way he describes it, both
jobs are really about the same. They each require good
rhythm and timing, and neither involve random drug testing.

Vague But True
Whether he's in the studio, on the
phone, or live on his special ISDN line, comedian Tim
Bedore joins BOB&TOM every Wednesday to bring us a new

But True. In these musings, Tim talks
about whatever is on his mind at the time, whether that be politics,
life lessons, spring breaks, or stories on how animals are trying

over the country are glued to their radios waiting to hear what
Bedore has to say.

Now What
Are the Critics Going to Say?
For the longest time, Peyton
Manning was known as a regular season warrior who could put
up fancy passing numbers but couldn't win the big game. But once
again, just like he's been doing his entire career, Manning was
able to silence his critics by winning Super Bowl XLI. And as
an added bonus, he took home a little extra hardware by winning
the Super Bowl MVP trophy too. Since then, he's gone on to host
SNL, he's met the President and the Queen, has starred in about
100 more television commercials and yet still finds the time
to remain arguably the best player in the NFL. Though the season
is rapidly approaching and he's gearing up to defend his Super
Bowl crown, Peyton is still taking time out to host a charity
auction for the PeyBack
Foundation. The items up for sale are
things you'd never be able to find anywhere else. This is once
in a lifetime stuff, people, and it all goes to benefit children.
How many more reasons do you need?

Summer
Break
Bill Scheft writes monologues for The
Late Show with David Letterman, wrote "The Show" in Sports
Illustrated, and is the author
of the highly acclaimed novel, The
Ringer, but right
now he's first and foremost a sports
fan. And while it's true there has been nothing but bad news
in the sporting world with refs gambling, Michael Vick fighting
dogs, and Barry Bonds breaking the home run record, Bill
is still able to find the humor in all of it. Oh, and since
there is nothing to watch on TV until football season kicks
off, you'll have plenty of time to read, so why not pick up
Bill's Thurber Prize nominated novel, Time
Won't Let Me (now in paperback).

The
Doctor is In
Bob & Tom PSYCHOtherapist, and long time friend of the show, Dr.
Will Miller became popular for his theories on classic television
and how those shows reflect on our own society and psychology.
In his Book, Why
We Watch, Dr. Will discussed everything from Gilligan's
Island to Scooby Doo and
how those reruns were actually the path to personal peace. Then
in his next work, Refrigerator Rights,
Dr. Will took an in depth look at what friendship in America
is all about by examining how individuals give out Refrigerator
Rights. In other words, how many friends do you have that
are allowed to just walk right in your home and start rummaging
through you're ice box? When listening to Dr. Will on our show,
it's like watching the Dr. Phil show, only with good advice,
and entertainment value.

Operation
Silent Thunder
For those who thought The
Daily Show with Jon Stewart only covered soft news,
and/or fake news, think again. During the week of August
20th, The Daily Show will go where
almost every other news show has gone before, but not nearly
in such a humorous way, Iraq. Senior War Correspondent Rob
Riggle will provide in-depth coverage and insights from
the front lines of this war torn country in a special feature
called "Operation Silent Thunder: The Daily Show in Iraq." This
isn’t green screen Iraq; this is the real 120º deal.

A Laugh
From the Past
In the world of the BOB&TOM Show, Scott
Dunn has become famous for his celebrity roasts and the ability

routine. So far he's skewered Ben Franklin, the Burr Hamilton
dual, the Louisiana Purchase, George Washington, first Thanksgiving,
and even the funeral of Abraham Lincoln. Now each Monday, Scott
surprises us with a new history lesson in which you're guaranteed
to laugh and might even learn a little something too. |
