Jim
Gaffigan
Returns to the Studio
Whether talking about cake, wearing robes, getting sick while eating
hot pockets or his desire to to end all conversation by saying "and
cut," Jim
Gaffigan is one of the funniest men in America. That's probably
why he is popping up all over the place as of late. Not only is
he one of our most frequent guests, he's also a regular on Late
Night with Conan O'Brien (who also doubles as his animated
crime fighting partner in The Pale Force), appears in countless
Sierra Mist commercials, is performing around the country on his Comedy
Central Live standup comedy tour and stars in a new TBS
sitcom, My
Boys. Yeah, he's a busy guy.

The Master
Plan
James
P. Connolly is a Harvard graduate and former Marine Corps
Infantry Officer but somehow he still ended up as a standup
comedian. For some, that carreer move might be considered a
rung down on the ladder, but you may think twice after going
over his resume. Connolly has been featured on Comedy Central,
HBO, SiTV, UPN and hosts the show Movie Obsessions on VH1.
He’s been a finalist in a number of top comedy competitions
such as Ed McMahon’s Next
Big Star and Laugh
Riots, plus he’s got a great
voice, which you can hear on his new CD, The
Master Plan.

Hot Comedy
Shes a fresh, folksy Canadian comedienne described as "the
girl next door after being dragged around the block a few times." Tracy
Smith has a comedic charm that keeps audiences off balance and laughing
with her on-target hindsight brand of comedy. Smiths
TV appearances include Evening at the Improv, MTV's
Half Hour Comedy Hour, Comedy Central, and Make
Me Laugh, but she's probably best well known
for her appearance on the BOB&TOM album Gone
Wild where she talked about being attracted
to her doctor and having nipples that taste like lemons.

Looking
For Mr. Right
Jason
Stuart is more than just one of the top openly gay
comedians in the country, he's also a very talented gay
actor and lecturer. With his comedic one-man show, The
Looking For Mr. Right Show, Jason uses his humor to
to entertain and inform audiences about what it's like
to be a gay, Jewish man living in Hollywood. And who would
know more about the subject than Stuart, who is both gay,
and living in LA? Television viewers may recognize him
from his guest appearances on hits like House, George Lopez,
My Wife and Kids, Will and Grace and Murder She Wrote.
He's also starred in a number of feature films including Lost & Found,
Vegas Vacation, and Kindergarten
Cop.

How Long Before Tom Mentions
the Sideburns?
Living in New York but originally from Tennessee, Rich
Brooks has been traveling down the long road of trying to make it
in standup comedy. In this business, you are always looking for opportunities,
and Rich found a big one in the form of Jim Gaffigan. Right now, Rich
is touring with Gaffigan, opening for him in some of the nicest theaters
in the country. Over the course of his life, Brooks has not only worked
as, but been fired from jobs like grocery boy, telephone operator, farm
worker, flight attendant, stereo rep, U.S. Senate aide, environmental
activist, lawyer, bartender and waiter. And while that may not look too
impressive on a resume, it does mean he’s got a wealth of life
experiences to tell jokes about.

Knowing When to Get Out
Fans of the mega-hit show American Idol may remember Brian
Dunkleman as the show's co-host along with Ryan Seacrest. But,
knowing that the show was never going to amount to anything, Dunkleman
decided to leave the show after the first season, and focus on his movie
and standup career, feeling that his role on the show was comparable to
being a "talking monkey." And while American Idol has gone on
to become one of the biggest shows in television history, and Ryan Seacrest
is now one of the most reconizeable names in Hollywood, Dunkleman isn't
bitter; he's been doing just fine on his own. He's appeared on The
Tonight Show, Two Guys and a Girl, NYPD Blue, Friends and
starred in the independent film Comedy Hell. And the best part
is he doesn't have to spend countless hours with Simon and Paula. |

High Brow Comedy
From high school talent shows to comedy clubs with stripper poles on stage,
comedian JR Brow has
learned to work in hostile environments. But having played in a
punk band for a few years, Brow knows there isn’t an audience he
can’t handle. Ever since he was a little kid JR knew that
he wanted to entertain people, and that’s exactly what he’s
been doing for almost 20 years. What began as an open mic night
in Austin, TX has blossomed into a successful career that includes sold
out clubs across the country, a number of corporate gigs, and appearances
at the Aspen Comedy Festival and on NBC’s Comedy Showcase. |

Spend NFL Sundays with Frank Caliendo
You May recognize Frank Caliendo as a long time star of MAD TV, as the comic relief on FOX NFL Sunday, or even from his multiple appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman. Actually, on second thought, maybe you don't. If his face doesn't look familiar, it's probably because Caliendo is a master impressionist who spends more time on screen portraying other people than he does as himself. Caliendo's impressive impressions include celebrities like Al Pacino, Jim Rome, Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Ted Knight, Jeff Goldblum, and a John Madden so good you could swear it was the real thing. |

A Name That Sounds Like an Adverb
Pete
Lee (or better yet, Peter Lee) may sounds like an adverb
when you say it quickly, but it's actually the name of a
smart, funny, up and coming stand up comedian. And though
he may not be well known yet, he’s already proven that
if you put him in a televised comedy competition, he'll finish
toward the top. Twice he’s been entered in competitions
on Comedy Central, and twice he’s come up just short
of winning, but don't scoff, how high did you finish? Self
described as an adorable, smart mouth with a 12th grade vocabulary,
Lee is constantly pursuing acting work along with developing
his blossoming standup career. He’s appeared in television
commercials for McDonalds and Michelob also appeared in the film A
Prairie Home Companion alongside Lindsay Lohan (before she went crazy) |

Still Waiting For a Good Name For This Feature
Over the past few weeks, Costaki
Economopoulos has been calling in to treat us to a new regular feature
that for the longest time didn't have a name or a premise, but throes
minor details have been fixed (maybe) as it's now known (at least for
this week) as "The Economonologue." Rolls right off the tongue,
doesn't it? Known for his clever writing, Costaki's able to take the
things he sees and hears in everyday life and turn turn them into comedic
observations you won't be able to believe you haven't thought of before.
His punch lines have been heard on The
Tonight Show, BET, and MTV. In other news,
he's released his first comedy CD, C'mon
It's Jokes, and is dating the beautiful
and funny comedienne, Caroline Rhea. |

Here He Is...
It's been a long seven days since we last visited with comedian Tim
Bedore, which is why we're so eager to have him back on his special
line ready to deliver another exciting edition of Vague
But True. Live from his home in Minnesota where he's seated comfortably
at mission control, Tim shares his thoughts on life, society, politics
and his day to day activities, presented in the form of in-depth, entertaining
editorials. Over the past few years, these musings have helped us learn
a lot about Bedore, including his thoughts on downloading movies, the
joy one can find in a SkyMall magazine, his time spent at summer camp
and his theory on how animals are trying to wipe out our species.

Did We Mention
Delta Farce is Now on DVD?
It was over a decade ago that Bill
Engvall first became famous for his “Here’s Your Sign,” standup
routine, and though that phrase helped launch into pop culture, it still
can't compare with the fame that came from being part of the fab four
known as The Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Along with Larry the Cable Guy,
Ron White and Jeff Foxworthy, Engvall took over the comedy would with
tours, TV Shows, CD's and best selling DVDs. And while the Blue Collar
shows may be over, Engvall hasn't slowed down a bit. After dabbling in
movies with Larry the Cable guy in Delta Farce, Bill is set to return
to TV in his very won TBS sitcom, The
Bill Engvall Show. He also recently released a new comedy CD, 15° Off
Cool, and his feature film with Larry the Cable Guy, Delta
Farce, is now available on DVD.

As Seen on
Comedy Central
Comedian Mike Birbiglia is man of deep thoughts and he's a man who
sleep walks. But, he's also a traveling comedian which
means he's not only on the road a lot, he's also got plenty
of free time. Mix those three factors together and you
end up with a little something he likes to call his Secret Public Journal. The Legions
of adoring fans who have signed up for his newsletter get
his very secret yet very public writings e-mailed directly
to them on a regular basis, but out of respect for those
who haven't joined, Mike is taking the time to call in
and read his innermost thoughts on the air.
FACTOID -
Mike Birbiglia is one of the featured performers on BOB&TOM's
upcoming Comedy Central special airing this Thursday at
12 Midnight ET.

Everyone
Wants
to Be Bob Zany
It’s time again for everyone’s favorite weekly feature, and
only the approaching NFL season could possibly compare to the excitement
it brings. Bob Zany, legendary standup comedian, Telethon Host and all
around great guy, is ready to run the comedy gauntlet once again in hopes
of getting the entire cast to laugh, at least once! And even if he can't
complete this mission with his Zany Report alone,
he'll also come prepared with a new installment of Fix
the Joke, Baby to save the segment. Because as we know, things
are always funnier when there's free stuff involved.
