Have You Met
Miss Jones?

Nashville's Kacey Jones is the definition of an overnight sensation. Her comedy career was launched accidentally when she discovered she had been booked at the (now defunct) Playboy Club in Kansas City as a "fresh young comedian." At that time she was a folk singer and flat broke. She ran out to the local record store and bought comedy albums by George Carlin, Richard Pryor & Robert Kline and admittedly stole their material and reworked it to favor a feminine slant and transformed herself into a "fresh young comedian." Kacey has been featured on National Public Radio as Garrison Keillor’s special guest on “A Prairie Home Companion.” Her first ever live solo CD on IGO Records, "Every Man I Love is Either Married, Gay, or Dead . . . LIVE" proves that Kacey Jones won't be taken too seriously anytime soon. At her website you can check out all of her CDs including "The Sweet Potato Queens; Big Ass Box of Music." Or perhaps you'd like a pair of her "Never Wear Panties to a Party" panties. (see photo above.) Check her out, she's hot!

Out of Practice
Henry Winkler may be returning to television, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be sporting a leather jacket and jumping sharks while water skiing. Instead, the man who gave life to the legendary television icon “The Fonz” on the classic sitcom Happy Days is now starring on CBS’s new comedy series, Out of Practice. The show, which is made by the same guys who brought you Frazier, centers around a family of doctors. Winkler plays the role of Stewart Barnes, recently separated father of the family and practicing surgeon. Oh, and he also having relations with his 30-year old secretary, which should help the already strained relationships. Out of Practice premiers Monday at 9:30ET on CBS.

On the Reiser
Paul Reiser, famous for his standup comedy and sitcom stardom (Mad About You, My Two Dads) is making a return to the big screen. Reiser is starring alongside acting legend, Peter Faulk (better known to some as Columbo) in the new film The Thing About My Folks as father and son who, over the course of several stressful yet meaningful days, rediscover their love for each other while coping with a family crisis. Reiser is also a best selling author of two comedy books – "Couplehood," which sold over two million copies and reached the number one spot on "The New York Times" best seller list and "Babyhood," and has starred in box office hits like Bye Bye Love, Aliens and Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2.

Don't Say His Name Too Fast On the Radio Or There Might Be a Problem
Eric Hunter knew he wanted to be a standup comedian since he got his first laughs at a family reunion at the age of six. Since then he’s added a few more jokes to the act and taken them on the road to venues everywhere. A funny and clean performer, Hunter jokes sarcastically about various topics, including his friends, his Irish Catholic family, sports and the wonderful world of relationships. This will be Hunters third time on the show this year, which proves that Tim Bedore knows what he's talking about when he recommends a comedian.

Nice Sass
When former school bus driver turned standup comedian Etta May enters a room, you know you're in for a treat. It might be her 250lb frame, horned rimmed glasses, polyester pants and trademark floral blouse that give you the giggles at first, but it'll be her off the wall stories about her failed truck driver husband Delbert and three mischievous children that you'll walk away from the club howling about. Etta first discovered she was destined to perform comedy in front of large groups of people when she was forced to entertain a rowdy bingo crowd after the "ball sucker" got stuck. Since then she's appeared on Oprah, MTV and won the American Comedy Award for Comedian of the Year.

Greek Style Comedy
Comedian Costaki Economopoulos' humor has been described as smart, pointed, hip, sharp, insightful, socially relevant, and gut-laugh funny and he’s been described as a “casually brilliant joke philosopher.” Just look at his business card, it's all right there. Aside from standup comedy, Costaki is still looking for a full time staff writing position on a sitcom, so if anybody “knows a guy,” make sure to give him a call (he's in the book). But until that day comes, the biggest name in comedy is keeping busy with other projects, including the release of his new CD,
C'mon It's Jokes.

Survivor Turns 11 This Thursday on CBS
Just when you thought you had the game figured out, CBS’s hit reality show Survivor returns with even more original and unbelievable twists and turns. Now in its 11th season, Survivor continues to reinvent itself. This time around, they are slimming the number of castaways back down to 16 and abandoning them in Guatemala, surrounded by the remains of the once powerful Maya Empire. In years past, the show has started as male vs. female, the castaways have been left with no supplies, and once they weren't even split into teams. This goes to show that you never know what to expect when it comes to Survivor, except that Jeff Probst will be back to run the show in his "Tom Griswold Style" shirts. Once again, Jeff will be presiding over immunity challenges and snuffing out torches at tribal council when Survivor: Guatemala premiers this Thursday on CBS.

Living The Dream
If someone were to tell you they were performing as a comedy club MC six times a week and having to host karaoke after each show in the dead of winter 60 miles from the Canadian border while living in a 6x8 motel room next to a French fry factory, you might think they had it all. Chad Daniels on the other hand felt he needed something more in his life. That's when he decided to take his comedy on the road and began performing at clubs, colleges, bowling alleys, and Elks’ Lodges across the nation. Not long after, Chad performed as a finalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots competition, which in turn got him enough attention to make his network television debut on the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. Chad has since released his first comedy album, Two Minutes for Stale Hacking.

The Host of Vague But True, Tim Bedore
Tim Bedore has been on a hot streak lately with his weekly Vague But True editorials, which is why we're so eager to find out what his next installment will be about. Over the past year, these musings have helped us learn a lot about Tim, including his predictions on the upcoming year, the joy he finds in defacing SkyMall magazines, the constant struggle between being a good father and a good comedian and his theory on how animals are trying to wipe out our species. But no matter the topic, we're happy he'll be reporting on it from his new home up north, where the introverts stare at their shoes and the extroverts stare at your shoes. Plus, make sure you stick around for the conclusion of VBT because Bedore now has a catchy little outro that you just can't help but sing along with. But remember, tempo is the key.

SIDE NOTE
- Tim is out with the Friends Of The Bob & Tom Show Comedy Tour "Plaid Team" including Todd Yohn, David Crowe, & Drew Hastings in Cedar Rapids on Friday & Mason City, IA on Saturday.

The NFL Song - Week 2
Week two of the NFL season has come to a close, and who better to recap all the gridiron action than Duke Tumatoe with his popular, bluesy musical review, The NFL Song. It was upsets all around this week with the Dolphins, 49ers & Bucs each winning big games, and "America's Team," the Saints, beating the Panthers in Carolina. Hell hasn't frozen over just yet though, the Bears and Texans are still winless. This leaves a lot of material for Duke to work into one song so don't you dare miss it, or else we'll send the guy who designed the Cardinals new uniforms to go clothes shopping with you. Plus, don't miss the always exciting Bass Talk, and perhaps another one of Chick's halftime reports.

If He Sees One More Damn Roadside Memorial
When Dwight Slade takes the stage, he's out for more than just laughs, he wants to become the voice of the little man. All he's trying to do is fight for your average Joe, stick it to 'the man' and score a little justice and/or payback for all of life's daily humiliations. Is that so much to ask? Whether it's taking on roadside memorials or people who talk to loud on the plane, Dwight's got your back. Slade got his start working with comedy legend Bill Hicks back in his home town of Portland, but has since made a name for himself headlining comedy clubs, hosting his own radio show and releasing two successful comedy albums. To top it all off, Slade is now taking part in the Friends of the BOB&TOM Show comedy tour, and will be performing this weekend with Pat Godwin, Dan St. Paul and Bob Zany.

Ripped From the Headlines
It’s time again for everyone’s favorite weekly feature, The Zany Report starring comedy legend Bob Zany. In case you’re new to the show or are unfamiliar with the concept of The Zany Report, we’ll explain how it works. Every Tuesday, Bob Zany calls in to deliver a handful of jokes based on current events and comical news stories. Though his intention is to present a report that is hilarious from top to bottom, it doesn’t always work out this way. Of course as good hosts, BOB&TOM are always kind enough to point out which of his jokes came up a little short in the laughs department. This is where you the listener come into play because Zany then invites a lucky fan to call in and fix one of his flat punch lines in a little game he calls Fix-The-Joke Baby! Sounds easy, doesn’t it? To find out more, got to bobzany.com, baby!

From the Pages of His Secret Public Journal
It can get lonely on the road as a traveling comedian. And if you’re not any good at picking up waitresses at the comedy clubs, sometimes your only companion is your trusty journal. Now, we’re not claiming to know the success rate Mike Birbiglia has with the wait staff, but we do know he calls us every so often to read an entry out of the Secret Public Journal he keeps while traveling. Bibigs, famous for his love of pizza and guitar guys at parties, is not only one of our favorite and most frequent guests, he’s also a main attraction on the Friends of the BOB&TOM Show comedy tour.

The Only Reason To Watch NFL Pregame Shows
When we first met comedian Frank Caliendo all we knew was he was the guy that did the best John Madden impression ever. But to our surprise, Frank wasn't just a one voice wonder, he actually had more great impressions than any one comedian should be allowed to do. Each time Frank visits or calls us on the phone, he impresses us with a variety of celebrity impersonations including Al Pacino, Jeff Goldblum, Norm McDonald, Jim Rome and Ted Knight just to name a few. The scary part is that if you didn’t know any better, you’d think all those celebrities were actually in the studio. In addition to performing standup comedy, Caliendo can be seen on FOX’s sketch comedy show Mad TV and the NFL on FOX pre-game show.
