Matt
Fugate Opens Up
From the moment he started getting laughs while reciting old Bill Cosby
routines on the playground, Matt
Fugate knew he wanted to be a standup comedian. And though he's had
to begin writing his own material, and can no longer plagiarize old albums,
he's been able to turn his defense mechanism into a successful career.
Fugate's style of comedy is often described as being smart, which we
are pretty sure is a compliment. Along with standup, Fugate is also a
co-creator of the spoof website AlliedChemical.com and
a humor columnist for Effect Magazine.

A Rock
DWAYNE "THE
ROCK" JOHNSON conquered the world of sports
before transitioning into his amazing and diverse
film career. In THE
GAME PLAN, moviegoers will get to experience
his rollicking sense of humor. He will next be seen
starring as Agent 23 in Peter Segal's screen version
of the classic super-agent comedy "Get Smart," alongside
Steve Carrel and Anne Hathaway. With these comedies,
Johnson further establishes himself as one of comedy’s
leading men. Among his other upcoming projects, he
will re-team with director Andy Fickman for a new
big screen version of the Disney live-action classic, “Witch
Mountain.” He has created his own charitable
entity, The Dwayne
Johnson Rock Foundation, which creates a platform
of hope and possibility for children nationwide by
providing programs designed to enrich and empower
the lives and self-esteem of under-served, at-risk
youth and children hospitalized for medical disabilities,
disorders and illness.

Secret Stories From His
Public Journal
Whether on the phone or in the studio, we’ve been treated, for
longer than we can remember, to comedian Mike
Birbiglia's writings, also known as his Secret
Public Journal. In these musings, Mike's covered everything including
his infatuation with pizza, problem with sleepwalking, brother Joe, fear
of bears and alter ego "Sleepy Carl." Will this next entry
cover one of these favorite topics, or might it be something completely
new? Only Mike knows for sure. Well, until he reads it to a national
audience, that is. >>> Read the PUNCHLINE Magazine article.

Southern
Fried Chick
When former school bus driver turned standup comedian Etta
May enters a room, you know you're in for a treat. It might be her
250lb frame, horned rimmed glasses, polyester pants and trademark floral
blouse that give you the giggles at first, but it'll be her off the wall
stories about her failed truck driver husband Delbert and three mischievous
children that you'll walk away from the club howling about. Etta first
discovered she was destined to perform comedy in front of large groups
of people when she was forced to entertain a rowdy bingo crowd after
the "ball sucker" got stuck. Since then she's appeared on Oprah,
MTV and is set to appear on CMT as part of the Southern
Fried Chicks Comedy Tour. |

Here
He Is...
It's been a long seven days since we last visited with comedian Tim
Bedore, which is why we're so eager to have him back on his special
line ready to deliver another exciting edition of Vague
But True. Live from his home in Minnesota where he's seated comfortably
at mission control, Tim shares his thoughts on life, society, politics
and his day to day activities, presented in the form of in-depth, entertaining
editorials. Over the past few years, these musings have helped us learn
a lot about Bedore, including his thoughts on downloading movies, the
joy one can find in a SkyMall magazine, his time spent at summer camp
and his theory on how animals are trying to wipe out our species.

The
NFL Blues
This weekend's NFL action has come
and gone but don't worry if you missed any of Sunday's
excitement because Duke
Tumatoe's back with another
edition of the NFL Song. Week
two was full of upsets as the Browns won a shootout,
the Buccaneers toppled the Saints and the Redskins actually
went into Philly and beat the Eagles on MNF (even though
ESPN tried not to show it). Now with the Texans, Niners
and Lions at 2-0 and the Eagles, Jets and Giants at 0-2,
things look a little confusing which is why we're lucky
we've got Duke Tumatoe stopping by to sort everything
out.

Welcome
to Somerville
Even at an early age, Mike
Somerville knew he was different. From leading a rebellion of students
as a Kindergartner to setting off a smoke bomb as part of a sixth grade
talent show, he’s always found a way to separate himself from the
crowd; whether it be by his choice or the authorities'. Even when he
entered the working world, after his father insisted he find a "real
job," Mike noticed that he didn’t fit in. All that waking
up early and constant personal hygiene was just too much for him to take.
That’s why he decided to fall back on a talent he’d picked
up as a freshman in college, stand up comedy, and he hasn’t looked
back since.

Fix-the-Joke,
Zany
It’s time again for everyone’s favorite weekly feature, The
Zany Report starring comedy legend Bob
Zany. In case you’re new to the show or are unfamiliar with
the concept of The Zany Report, we’ll explain how it works. Every
Tuesday, Bob Zany calls in to deliver a handful of jokes based on current
events and comical news stories. Though his intention is to present a
report that is hilarious from top to bottom, it doesn’t always
work out this way. Of course as good hosts, BOB&TOM are always kind
enough to point out which of his jokes came up a little short in the
laughs department. This is where you the listener come into play because
Zany then invites a lucky fan to call in and fix one of his flat punch
lines in a little game he calls Fix-The-Joke Baby! Sounds easy, doesn’t
it? To find out more, got to bobzany.com, baby!

Rodney
Carrington is Coming Clean
Singer/songwriter/standup comedian Rodney
Carrington recently decided to leave the pampered life of a sitcom
actor behind (well, the network helped him make that decision) and is
returning to his roots, standup comedy. This summer he starred in a huge
Comedy Central standup special (now available on DVD),
and released a brand new comedy CD, King
of the Mountains, but he's still got a little more up his
sleeve. While on the road this summer, he also somehow found the time
to write a book Coming
Clean, which can be preordered now. Don't be the last one
to get a copy.

No Refunds
Described as one of the most twisted individuals you’ll ever see
perform, Doug
Stanhope has no problem telling people that his show might not be
for everyone, especially those that are offended easily or have weak
stomachs. He’s confrontational, vulgar, graphic, uninhibited and
brutally honest, and that's just how he describes himself. All that aside,
Doug is still considered to be one of the greatest comedians touring
today. Along with his stand-up duties, he’s also hosted The
Man Show on Comedy Central, a couple of the Girls
Gone Wild videos, and recently starred in his very own Showtime
special, No Refunds.

Historical
Comedy
In the world of the BOB&TOM Show, Scott
Dunn has become famous for his celebrity roasts and the ability to
turn any event in history, no matter how obscure, into a comedy routine.
So far he's skewered Ben Franklin, the Burr Hamilton dual, the Louisiana
Purchase, George Washington, first Thanksgiving, and even the funeral
of Abraham Lincoln. Now each Monday, Scott surprises us with a new history
lesson in which you're guaranteed to laugh and might even learn a little
something too. |

The
Doctor is In
Bob & Tom PSYCHOtherapist, and long time friend of the show, Dr.
Will Miller became popular for his theories on classic television
and how those shows reflect on our own society and psychology. In his
Book, Why
We Watch, Dr. Will discussed everything from Gilligan's
Island to Scooby Doo and how those
reruns were actually the path to personal peace. Then in his next work, Refrigerator
Rights, Dr. Will took an in depth look at what friendship in America
is all about by examining how individuals give out Refrigerator
Rights. In other words, how many friends do you have that are allowed
to just walk right in your home and start rummaging through you're ice
box? When listening to Dr. Will on our show, it's like watching the Dr.
Phil show, only with good advice, and entertainment value.
