George Puts the "G" in TGIF
George
Lopez, the
hit comedy series created by longtime friend of the show George
Lopez (ironically enough), will be the new lead in program
for ABC's
all new TGIF
lineup. Lopez's program has developed such a large following
in its first two seasons that it will be anchoring this legendary
night of TV sitcoms... following in the footsteps of other great
TGIF classics like Perfect Strangers,
Full House, and
Family Matters. In other exciting
news, executive producer Sandra
Bullock announced that she will be rejoining the cast for
a few episodes in season three. When not working on the show,
Lopez keeps busy by performing standup comedy, whether it be
at a club, in front of the President or while hosting the Emmy
Awards.

Collin
Quinn's Tough Crowd
Longtime standup comedian and former anchor
of Saturday Night Lives
Weekend Update, Colin Quinn has found a home on Comedy
Central hosting the round table discussion show Tough
Crowd with Colin Quinn. The program does its best to solve
the worlds problems by placing a group of comedians in a
relaxed atmosphere where they can sit around and argue. Though
rarely does anything actually get solved, its always entertaining
to watch comics battle it out over issues they know nothing about.
Quinns enjoyed success with the program thus far, but a
new Comedy Central special will be taking the show in a new direction.
Tough Crowd Stands Up
will let the regulars of the show, including Quinn, speak their
minds in their natural setting
on stage. Aside from his
hosting duties, Colin is also an accomplished actor and writer.
He wrote the movie Celtic Pride,
and starred in his own critically acclaimed one-man show, Colin
Quinn: An Irish Wake.
FACTOID
- Colin Quinn was one of the comics featured in Jerry Seinfelds
documentary, Comedian |

Head
of the Class in Comedy School
What would make a teacher give up the classroom and take to the
comedy club stage? A nice paycheck is one good reason, but for
Jeff
Jena it was because he saw so much humor in every day life
that he had to share it with an audience that could vote, drive,
drink and watch porn (though not necessarily in that order). Jenas
observational humor has made him a top draw during his 20 plus
years in comedy. After getting his start at the legendary Comics
Annex in Houston, he appeared on Star Search
in front of a national audience. Soon after, he was headlining
packed houses in the best clubs across the country. |

Dan
Kaufman
A lawyer walks into a bar, and after pounding a few beers decides
to become a standup comic. Though it sounds like the opening
to a bad joke, it's actually the story of comedian Dan
Kaufman
give or take a few facts. Once upon a time
Kaufman was a successful lawyer, but that all changed when he
decided he no longer wanted to do actual work for a living.
Soon after, Kaufman left the courtroom and followed his dream
of performing a funny, thought-provoking, smart and edgy comedy
act in clubs and colleges across the country. Kaufman convinced
us it would be wise to include all those adjectives in this
paragraph, otherwise legal action may be taken.
FACTOID
- Dan Kaufman is also an extremely talented artist
and portrait painter.

Were
Very Excited
This past Tuesday, if you felt a little empty
inside and just knew that something was missing from the show,
you were right. The wildly popular
Zany Report was put on hold for a few
days, but believe us, it was for good reason. Because of the delay,
this week's Report
is being presented by legendary comedian Bob
Zany, live in the studio. Though folks are excited about this
momentous occasion, many are worried about how Zany will react
when he has to take all of Tom's criticisms face to face, instead
of over the phone. We're positive Zany will do just fine. After
all, he is a professional. And fear not... even if Bob's punch
lines do fall flat, we've got plenty of callers willing to jump
in and perform an on the spot fix-the-joke, baby! |

Here's Your
Host, Jimmy Pardo
Comedian Jimmy
Pardo commands respect, and maybe some day hell get
it. Even though hes a well-accomplished standup comic
with a number of impressive credentials on his resume, Jimmy
still feels like we dont always give him the love he deserves.
Perhaps all that will change now that Jimmys joined the
ranks of game show legends Bob Barker, Dick Clark, and Bob Eubanks
by hosting the hilarious game show, National
Lampoons Funny Money. Pardo
was a natural selection to host this standup comedy themed program
due to his unmatched razor-sharp wit, crowd control abilities
and most importantly, rugged good looks. It's his job to keep
the guest comedians in line, and help them earn money for contestants
by making people laugh. Funny
Money airs twice a day on the Game
Show Network.

Greg
Morton,
Back For More!
Greg Morton
is one of of those comedians that can make you to laugh, just
by looking at him... and we don't mean that in the hurtful way.
We're laughing with, not at him. Morton has the ability contort
his face and change his look into a number of famous celebrities
including Prince, Ross Perot, Tina Turner and Mick Jager. This
doesn't really translate to radio very well, so we're thankful
he's also an accomplished standup comic with a a sly wit, great
sense of humor and an unbelievable knack for voice characterizations.
Though he wasn't able to get to it last week, Morton is able
to perform the entire Star Wars
trilogy (the first one) in under three minutes.. something he
promises to do this time around. According to our very own Chick
McGee, if you have a chance to see Morton live, do it! His closer
is one of most interesting things you'll see on a comedy stage.
FACTOID
- Greg Morton has worked for Hanna Barbara on "The New
Flintstones" and "The Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show"
and directed ABC's "Hammerman."

The
NFL Song - Week 3
Week Three of the NFL season has come to
a close, and who better to recap all the action than Duke
Tumatoe in his popular, bluesy musical tribute, The
NFL Song. It was upsets all around
this week (especially in the games Chick picked) with the Seahawks,
Cardinals & Browns winning and the Rams, Niners and Bills
losing. Hell hasn't frozen over yet though... the Bengals are
still winless. This
leaves a lot of material for Duke to work into one song so don't
you dare miss it, or we'll send the groundskeeper of Paul Brown
Stadium to take care of your lawn. Plus, don't miss the always
exciting Bass
Talk, and perhaps another delicious halftime recipe.
