The
Pain of
Ross Bennett
Comedian Eddy Strange used to be comedian Ross
Bennett, until he switched back to his god-given name, followed by
a change back to Strange, and then finally returning as Ross Bennett,
version 2.0. Got all that? Once he made the executive decision to pick
a moniker for himself and stick with it, Bennett became the "best
kept secret in show business." His entertainment career began when
he dropped out of West Point during his sophomore year in order to take
up a life of comedy and theater. Though his parents didn't find the career
change all that humorous at first, who's laughing now that Bennett has
been able to make a name (or two) for himself in doing work he loves. Ross
recently released his first CD, New
York Country, and he made his first appearance on a B&T
project, with his track about the pain of dating on the new album, Happy
Hour.

The
Scariest Little Girl in The History of Cinema
As the Halloween season approaches,
people are beginning to flock to movie stores in
order to purchase horror films. And one of the most
popular, not to mention one of the most terrifying
is still William Peer Blatty’s classic, The
Exorcist. Those she was
just a child when the movie was filmed, Linda
Blair delivered a legendary performance as a
little girl whose body has been taken over by a demon.
And it wasn’t just that she was able to look
and act the part, some of the most frightening aspects
of her character were the things coming out of her
mouth, including vulgar language and pea soup. Linda
has also been featured in the movies, Summer
of Fear, Wild Horse Hank, Airport 1975 and Sweet
Hostage just to name a
few. For more information about Linda's charity check
out
The
Linda Blair World Heart Foundation.

One
Man's Perspective
The name Keith
McGill sounds as if it should belong to a country singer, but upon
further research we discovered the man is actually a talented standup
comedian. Common mistake. Keith may not wear a cowboy hat, but he does
bring a quick-witted, lively, intelligent slant to comedy, and he comes
highly recommended by our good friend Tim Cavanagh. During his shows,
McGill offers his own insights on being as a black man in America, however,
his humor is more of a commentary on all facets of life, not just one
sector of society. This way everyone can enjoy.

The
Ultimate Closer
Greg
Morton is so funny that you'll start laughing
as soon as you look at him, but we don't mean that
in a hurtful way. It's just that Morton has the ability
to contort his rubber-like face and morph himself
into any number of famous celebrities including Prince,
Tina Turner and Mick Jagger. He knows this doesn't
translate well over the radio, which is why he often
falls back on his prowess as a standup comedian.
When you see Greg Morton live you're in for a real
treat because his shows not only feature an amazing
three minute impression of the entire Star
Wars trilogy (the good one), he also closes
with a performance that is unlike anything you've
seen on a comedy stage.
FACTOID -
Greg Morton has provided the voices for characters on a number
of animated shows including Police Academy the Series and
Super Mario Bros. 3.

That
Guy
When John Heffron's
parents found out that he'd been skipping night school classes in order
to pursue his dream of performing stand-up comedy, they weren’t
thrilled. But how were they supposed to know that one day this truant
teen would climb the ranks of the comedy world and eventually win the
second season of NBC's Last Comic Standing.
With a fresh, youthful appearance and the outlook of a man trying to
figure out life as a grown up, Heffron is one of comedy's rising talents.
Before he became a reality TV star, John's other television credits included
appearances on The Tonight Show , Premium Blend and NBC's
Friday Night. He also recently released his first comedy album, The
Better Half, which is available on his website.
SIDE NOTE -
John Heffron is one of the two comics behind the "That
Guy Game!" which has become a popular pastime at bachelorette
parties everywhere.

The
Man Song Man
Comedian Sean
Morey's songs usually contain
very heartfelt and well thought out messages. His tune Dear
Santa examines the greed and poverty
of today's society and his The
Man Song discusses the power struggle
between the sexes. Even On the
Internet is all about how hard it
is to find love in today's society, even though we've recently
found out Morey is a frequent visitor to Internet dating sites.
The messages may not sound as profound when accompanied by
his banjo (or his guitar which he plays to make sound like
a banjo), but if you can get past that, these songs might possibly
teach you a little about life, love and even yourself.

The
NFL Song: Week 6
Week five of NFL action has come
and gone but don't worry if you missed any of the
previous week's action because Duke
Tumatoe's back with
another edition of the NFL
Song. After only a few
weeks of football, the field of 32 is already beginning
to separate. While some squads have shown they are
capable of winning it all, others like the Lions,
Raiders, Buccaneers and Titans haven't shown that
they can win a game. But there is still a long way
to go which means Duke has more than enough to sing
about this week.

Comics
On Duty
As the war in Iraq continues, the troops long for anything that will
remind them of their lives back home. And what better way to do this
than with some good ol' American standup comedy? That’s why a group
of comedians have come together to form the Comics
on Duty World Tour, a program that travels around the world to bring
laughter to our brave men and women overseas. Comics on Duty has been
around for over 12 years and has put on over 1300 performances. Steve
Mazan is among the many great comedians making stops around the Middle
East this year, and the troops are grateful they’ve got top-tier
headliners performing for them. Because out in the Mid-East, you don’t
want anyone bombing.

Face
The Promise
“I think I’m probably the most unlikely guy who was ever called a
rock star,” Bob Seger has
said – and it’s easy to see why. Although the one-time auto factory
worker is now a Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee who’s
sold nearly 50 million records, he’s kept a remarkably low profile. With
Face The Promise, his first studio album in 11 years, Seger returns to the forefront
with a pivotal album that proves one of the truly defining voices of America
still has his finger firmly pressed on the nation’s pulse. In the words
of the New York Times, which profiled him in it’s “Arts & Leisure” section, “Mr.
Seger gets back in the game and sounds as if he hasn’t lost a step.”
The Tour
On November 8th, Seger & The Silver Bullet Band will launch their
first concert tour in 10 years at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee announced the tour on “Late
Show with David Letterman” recently, where he performed “Wreck
This Heart,” a rousing rocker from his new album, Face
the Promise, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 album
chart, marking Seger’s highest chart debut ever. Seger has been
renowned for his live shows for decades – a point underscored by
the fact that his first commercial breakthrough was not a studio album
but 1976’s Live Bullet, a double live album that has sold over
5 million copies.
