Who's the Boss... on The Office
Though he started out as the dry, sarcastic correspondent on The Daily Show, it was his role as Michael Scott, the obnoxious and highly unprofessional regional manager on NBC's The Office, that launched Steve Carell into stardom. But his comedic talents aren't exclusive to the small screen, Carell has actually become one of Hollywood's most sought after comedic actors. He's starred in some of the biggest comedy films over the past few years including The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Anchor Man, Evan Almighty, and Little Miss Sunshine. Steve's hoping that his string of hit films continues with his newest project, Dan in Real Life, which opens in theaters October 26. You can also catch Steve each Thursday on NBC in The Office.

FACTOID – Steve Carell provided the voice for "Gary" on SNL’s cartoon, The Ambiguously Gay Duo. His partner, "Ace," was voiced by fellow Daily Show correspondent, Stephen Colbert.

Here's a Tip From Your Uncle Lar
Chicago native, Larry Reeb, loves three things, cigars, the Bears, and dispensing helpful advice about life to unsuspecting audiences. Oh, and his wife is probably a close forth. Known around the country as Uncle Lar, Reeb is the guy you do your best to keep the kids away from at the family reunions. He may look like an average guy, but underneath that pale facade lurks a sick and twisted sense of humor. We're not saying you won't find him unbelievably funny, because he is, it's just that you might feel a little dirty for laughing at some of the "Tips from your Uncle Lar."

As Seen on The Late Show with David Letterman
Former civil engineer Jeff Caldwell is known to people far and wide as a clean, clever comedian with one of the brightest standup acts around. From the daily news to the daily grind, Caldwell covers a variety of subjects with a dry delivery and sharp wit. It doesn’t matter whether he’s on stage, at a corporate gig or on television, Caldwell has the ability to bring audiences to tears, and we mean that in the good way. Make sure to catch him this Friday when he'll be featured on The Late Show with David Letterman, and if you enjoy that, why not pick up one of his new CDs, I'm No Epidemiologist, which is available now at The BOB&TOM online store!

Chick's Hero, Live in the Studio
Nothing in life makes the Chickster happier than his beloved Washington Redskins, which is why we've not been able to get him out of the studio since he found out his hero, former 'Skins QB Joe Theismann would be joining us. It's no surprise Chick has a huge man-crush on Theismann, he's only one of the all time greats in franchise history. He lead the team to two Super Bowls, winning one, was named to the Pro-Bowl twice, NFL MVP once and owns most of the Redskins passing records. And though we're sure Joe will be happy to talk about football, he's also here to remind guys of the importance of having their prostate checked. Hey, what do you know, there's something else he and Chick have in common.

Hard to Spell, Easy to Enjoy
Latino comedian Rick Gutierrez has been cracking up audiences across the country with his throwback takes on traditional family values and outlooks on marriage for years, but it’s about time some higher ups in Hollywood finally got wind of his comedic talents. Gutierrez is slated to star the film Tortilla Heaven with good friend of the show George Lopez in 2007. But while he's awaiting the film's release, he continues to tour around the country performing standup comedy, so make sure to catch him live if you want a head start. Rick also boasts a number of television credits including NBC's Friday Night Videos, BET Comic View, Showtime's Latino Laugh Festival and HBO.

The Gentleman Farmer
Though Drew Hastings is one of our most frequent visitors, we never run out of things to talk about when he stops by. It may have to do with his conversational skills, or years worth of standup comedy material, but more than likely it's his life as a metrosexual farmer that keeps things interesting. Drew may be one of the most brilliant comedians working today, but we're positive he's the only guy raising pigs and growing corn while wearing a black mock turtle-neck sweater.

See The Light
American Idol season four finalist Bo Bice says that while making his first album, The Real Thing was fun, it still wasn't showcasing his true talent and love of music. All that changes on his new album, See the Light, which features Bo's love all musical diversity including tracks described as Southern-fried rock, ballads, soul and funky groove. And while that's a lot of genres to fit into a ten track CD, Bo somehow made it work. Raised in England since the age of 12, Bo never forgot his southern roots while learning how to play the guitar, saxophone, harmonica and piano. After moving back to the states in his late teens, Bo toured the southern-circuit with a few local bands before auditioning for American Idol.

Turning Ignorance into a Career
When it comes to ADD and medication, Tom Cruise and comedian Ryan Dalton are on the same page. You don’t need to take pills, just give patient a stage, a mic and an audience, and they’ll be just fine. It seems to have worked for Dalton. A native of Cleveland, OH, Dalton discovered after graduating from college that the entertainment industry might be right for him because it was one of the few places where a basic lack of knowledge on any subject is not only necessary, but also embraced. He uses standup comedy as a way to poke fun at controversy and the “everyday personal injustices” that are dealt with by the common man. He also tries to defend the common woman whenever possible.

The New Kid in Comedy
The idea to become a stand up comedian can come from most anywhere, but for Shane Mauss, it came from a 8-year-old boy. To be fair, Shan was also 8-years-old at the time, but still it's unique. Knowing that his small-town Wisconsin home wasn't exactly a hot bed for comedy, Mauss moved to Boston (when he was older than eight) where he attended some classes and started honing his standup act. From there his career took off, including winning the Best Stand Up Comic of 2007 award at the Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and appearances on
Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Playboy TV.

Everything's Bigger
in Texas

Scott Kennedy's career in comedy began, not by his choice, but because a friend decided to enter him in an amateur comedy competition. Though it wasn't his idea, he ran with it, and it turned out to be just what Kennedy needed. Since then, he's gone on to star in his own 1/2 hour special on Comedy Central and has been seen on Premium Blend, Last Comic Standing, The Late Late Show and CMT. He's also taken part in a special Christmas USO tour and just released his third CD, Scott Kennedy... Really?!?!

What's the Topic
This Week?
Comedian Costaki Economopoulos may be the star of our most oddly named segment, but it also happens to be one of the funniest. Since it's debut a few months ago, The Economonologue, as he's dubbed it, has covered a variety of topics including strange superstitions, odd phobias and the origin of clichés. Costaki's able to take the things he sees and hears in everyday life and turn turn them into comedic observations you won't be able to believe you haven't thought of before, and will never be able to forget.

Fun With Sound Effects
Whether he's in the studio, on the phone, or on his special ISDN line live from his home, comedian Tim Bedore joins BOB&TOM every Wednesday to bring us a new edition of his popular weekly feature, Vague But True. In these musings, Tim talks about whatever is on his mind at the time, whether that be politics, life lessons, or stories on how animals are trying to wipe out the human race. But no matter the topic, folks all over the country are glued to their radios waiting to hear what Bedore has to say, and what sound effects he'll play. And if you happen to be one of those people, here's some good news, Tim's most popular pieces from the last few years have been compiled into a spectacular two-CD set, Vague But True, which is available now!

Football Put to Music
After a wild weekend of football, is there any better way to catch up on all the action than through song? We didn't think so either, which is why we've once again asked Duke Tumatoe's to join us in the studio to talk about the weekend that was and fill us in on all things NFL with his aptly named NFL Song. Why ESPN hasn't caught on to this tradition we have no idea.

On a Secret Public Road Trip
Whether on the phone or in the studio, we’ve been treated, for longer than we can remember, to comedian Mike Birbiglia's writings, also known as his Secret Public Journal. In these musings, Mike's covered everything including his infatuation with pizza, problem with sleepwalking, brother Joe, fear of bears and alter ego "Sleepy Carl." Will this next entry cover one of these favorite topics, or might it be something completely new? Only Mike knows for sure. Well, until he reads it to a national audience, that is. If you you happen to see a van that looks a lot like A-Team's ride driving through your town, don't worry it's not Mr. T, it's just Mike Birbiglia in the middle of his cross country tour.

He's on a Hot Streak
It’s time again for everyone’s favorite weekly feature, The Zany Report starring comedy legend Bob Zany. In case you’re new to the show or are unfamiliar with the concept of The Zany Report, we’ll explain how it works. Every Tuesday, Bob Zany calls in to deliver a handful of jokes based on current events and comical news stories. Though he's had a few good weeks in a row, sometimes the reports don't always go as planned which is why Bob plays a little game called Fix-The-Joke, Baby. In it, Zany invites a lucky fan to call in and fix one of his less than stellar punch lines, live on the air. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Oh, and did we mention there are prizes involved?

The Return of Dave Dugan
Comedian, corporate speaker and world-class voice-over talent Dave Dugan has been compared to comedy legend Bob Newhart in that he plays the part of the everyman victim to perfection. With a dry delivery, wealth of material and unbelievably deep voice, Dugan has made it big on the standup scene, headlining clubs across the country. However, where Dave is able to utilize his talents most effectively is during his corporate speaking gigs. Dugan is famous for walking into a speaking engagement as an imposter; posing as a new hire in the company's upper management or even as a desperate, pathetic competitor. A long time friend of the show, Dugan has appeared on a number of B&T albums, both as himself and as Sid Gurney's best buddy, Bart McAlister.

Drew Carey,
Come on Down

Drew Carey has made a living as the beer drinking, joke telling, everyman of comedy.  With his black-framed glasses, buzz haircut and beefy build, Carey found a niche as the voice of the average guy.  Before long he took his shtick from stage to screen on the highly successful ABC sitcom, The Drew Carey Show, and later on the comedy game show, Who’s Line is It Anyway.  Though both of those programs have come and gone, Carey is once again putting his everyman charm and hosting prowess to good use on the new CBS game show, The Power of 10.  On the show Carey leads contestants through a game in which they only have to answer five questions in a row to win $10 Million.  In other news, Carey is about to begin work as Bob Barker’s replacement on the new season of the long-running game show, The Price is Right.

Time is On His Side
In the world of the BOB&TOM Show, Scott Dunn has become famous for his celebrity roasts and the ability to turn any event in history, no matter how obscure, into a comedy routine. So far he's skewered Ben Franklin, the Burr Hamilton dual, the Louisiana Purchase, George Washington, first Thanksgiving, and even the funeral of Abraham Lincoln. Now each Monday, Scott surprises us with a new history lesson in which you're guaranteed to laugh and might even learn a little something too.

A Different Kind of Bad
After receiving an honorable discharge from the army, dropping out of college, and deciding that a "real job" wasn't his style, Danny Bevins chose standup comedy as a career. Now most weekends you can find him in comedy clubs using his cynical world views and childhood tales to laugh audiences into submission. But that's not all, for those of you who enjoy documentaries, Danny has just release a film he co-directed with friend of the show John Bizarre which follows their journey while performing in Iraq for the Troops. Comics On Duty: We Love You, Mrs. Bevins.

FACTOID - At one time, Danny worked as an airline flight attendant

From Indy Car to Dancing Star
Helio Castroneves has been a champion at every level of racing he's ever competed in. From his home in brazil where he raced go-karts to here in the States where he's a two-time Indy 500 winner, Castroneves has show that he's got the will and the talent to win. He's going to need that same drive, and a few different skills, if he wants to win his current challenge, ABC's hit reality show, Dancing With the Stars. Instead of going around in circles on a track, Helio will be spinning on the dance floor along with fellow celebrities Wayne Newton, Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Jennie Garth and Marie Osmond. Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC.
