B&T Show producer Dean Metcalf is a US Presidential history buff and memorbilia collector. Since we rarely have an official show and tell day here at the show, Dean jumped on the Presidents Day opportunity to share his collection. We're guessing that this whole deal was just an elaborate ploy to get his wife to OK another guitar purchase.

Jumbo the ElephantJumbo Sighting
Dear Bob and Tom,
Earlier this year, my wife and I were blessed to be able to adopt our first child. He came to us from the city of Yekaterinburg, Russia, about 800 miles east of Moscow. It was an amazing adventure to travel to such a culturally rich country to bring home such a wonderful child!
This past Friday, we took Alex to meet Santa for the first time. We weren't sure how he would react to meeting the Big Guy. We were certainly prepared for a meltdown. When he met Santa, he actually turned out to be indifferent. However, he squealed with glee when none other than Jumbo the Elephant made an appearance! (pictured left)) Alex was delighted to meet Jumbo, whom he has heard many times on your show. Thank you for making my little boy's night a little more special. And thank you all (even Chick) for all you do to bring a little more joy and laughter into this world. While a funny radio show certainly won't solve the world's problems, it certainly makes life more bearable in spite of them.
Sincerely,
Adam and Alex Clutinger

Tom has a peculiar affection for this "tricked out" GMC "A-Team" van owned by Mike Birbiglia. Remember, if you're offered a prostate exam from someone driving a van that looks like this, it's probably a good idea to pass on the offer.

Talk About A "Shoe-In!"
The NFL season approaches and we've already started getting emails from fans of Chick's "Shoe-In" of the Week. You want to know why it's called "Chick's Shoe-IN..." shouldn't it be Shoo-In? We offer photographic evidence that we've been spelling it correctly all along! We're still trying to find out how many Odor Eaters it takes to make this room habitable.

So, what did you do this weekend?
Tom was presented with his 5th child. Here he is with his new daughter "Sally." In a related story, Bob was presented with a bouncy new baby iPhone.

Peter Frampton Live... From the Static Shack
Peter Frampton has played guitar since the age of 11. Back in those days, he would practice in his school cafeteria alongside a classmate who also shared an interest in music, David Bowie. While both of these men would go their separate ways at early ages, they would come back together and tour in the mid 80's. Decades before this twist of irony, Frampton was creating his own unique style while playing with the band Humble Pie. He called it a blend of jazzy lyrics over a rockin' blues based band, everyone else just said they liked it. This was quite a change for the teenybopper Frampton who was named "Face of 1968" by the UK press. Frampton would put out five albums with Humble Pie before striking out on his own. It was then that Frampton enjoyed monstrous success with his double live album Frampton Comes Alive, which featured songs such as "Show Me the Way," and "Baby I Love Your Way." It also earned Rolling Stones "Artist of the Year," in '79. His popularity continues to grow today with more live and studio albums, along with sold out concert tours that included everything from huge venues to small, intimate locations. These days, not only does he have his own signature Peter Frampton Les Paul Guitar series, he's released an anthology album, as well as a brand new project titled Fingerprints. We're hoping to get a taste of his new stuff, as well as a couple of his classic hits, when Peter Frampton and the entire band join BOB&TOM live from the Static Shack for a full morning of music.

Where's the Controversy?
Some prudes out there were a little upset by the recent cover of Baby Talk Magazine that pictured a harmless photo a baby breast feeding. We don't see the harm in this, the suckling a mother's bosom is a natural, beautiful and healthy act. In fact, we don't even see the problem with the new, and eerily similar cover of Booby Talk Magazine that shows Bob almost in the same pose.

The Static Shack Gets Tricked Out
After experimenting with different arrangements and band names, guitarist Rick Nielsen and bass player Tom Petersson joined together with drummer Bun E. Carlos and singer Robin Zander to form the legendary rock band, Cheap Trick. Since its formation in 1977, Cheap Trick has been all over the music charts, releasing albums that have gone both platinum and gold, while at the same time establishing a huge, loyal fan base which continues to pack venues all over the country. Known for having one of the most entertaining and energetic concerts in the business, it was their live album Budokan that spawned their first top ten hit, I Want You to Want Me. By combining British guitar pop, heavy metal, punk, and a flair for the absurd, the guys of Cheap Trick were able to carve out a niche for themselves on the rock scene, one that's worked for nearly three decades. The band continues to tour as well as release new studio material. Their most recent album, RockFord, will be released later this year, so we're sure they’ll break out a few of their new tunes as well as a couple of classics when they perform live at the Static Shack. The Comedy Central Special is In the Can!
The taping of BOB&TOM's first Comedy Central special was a huge success. Two shows were taped Saturday, April 8th in Anderson, Indiana at the beautiful Paramount Theater. Eighteen comedians were featured in two shows which were taped in High Definition for broadcast in September. We'll keep you posted on the details. Meanwhile, enjoy the extensive photo gallery and take a look behind the scenes at one of our biggest events ever!

Thanks to "Officer Jay" from Washington for the nice portrait of "Commander Kevoian." Asstronauting has always been one of Bob's favorite hobbies. He also enjoys boobtronauting.

Bob, Tom, Kristi, and Chick,
First let me start by saying I am a Huge fan of all of you and the show. I have been listening every morning for 2 years now and have had to pull over on the side of the road numerous times on my way to work (I am a nurse so I work early in the am) because I am laughing my ass off and I don't want to kill people.
Anyways, I have also become quite a fan of Mike Birbiglia so of course I was excited when I heard he would be coming to Albuquerque (Oct 14th) for the Friends of Bob and Tom show. My friend Gretchen and I spent the afternoon preparing for our chance to see Mike in person (we even brought a sharpie marker in hopes he would sign our boobs). Now you can imagine how disappointed we were when he failed to show up. Now all I can say is: What a pussy! and what happened? I have attached a picture for you to see what he missed and I hope that you will rub it in his face the next time he is on the show. At least one thing still stands true, I love you guys. (and Kristi by the way you rocked at the show). A disappointed fan,
Emily C.
Albuquerque, NM
P.S. In the picture I am on the left and Gretchen in on the right.

The BOB&TOM Monster Truck Wins First Event!
Monster Jam returned to the RCA Dome in Indianapolis Saturday night bringing with it the wildest show event to ever grace the downtown facility. A sold out crowd watched as monsters, Pro Stadium Trucks and an all truck demo derby kept the action going. Monster Racing saw some surprises when Tom Meents could not qualify after rolling the truck in the opening ceremonies. Grave Digger spun out on the final turn of his qualification run and dropped to last in the order and the new BOB&TOM Ford Truck took the event from the big boys. “ I got a call from Tom Meents asking me if I would consider driving for his team”, said Guy Wood during a pre-event interview. “When I found out it was driving the Bob and Tom truck it was a bonus. I listen to these guys on the radio back in Missouri and now I am part of their team. This is awesome”. The BOB&TOM Ford did extremely well in its debut event winning the racing part of the show but it cost him a transmission and the truck could not come out for the freestyle competition.

Would You Like Frazz With That?
Cartoonist Jef Mallett has helped BOB&TOM become syndicated in a whole new way… as a comic strip. Well, not exactly. In an upcoming edition of Mallett’s syndicated strip, Frazz, BOB&TOM get a nice little plug. Though the comic in question has yet to be published, Tommy G. did get a sneak peak and describes the cartoon as “very funny.” The strip centers around a young man named Edwin “Frazz” Frazier who became the janitor of his old elementary school when his career as a songwriter wasn’t quite working out for him. Though he finally hit it big, Frazz decided to hang on to his janitorial duties and has become friend to both student and staff as well as the most well respected “educator” in the school. Look for Frazz on comics.com and in newspapers everywhere.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State quarterback Chris Rix used an unauthorized handicap parking tag on campus, and paid a $100 fine after fellow students told police. Students recognized Rix as he parked his sports utility vehicle near one of his classes Thursday, and chastised him as he walked away. They then left a note on his windshield and called police, who put a lock on a tire so the vehicle couldn't be moved, school officials said. Apparently there were other clues that the vehicle was not actually owned by a handicapped person. (Click on the photo for a closer look.)
