Silly Bandz

For those of you that have been living under a rock, Silly Bandz (the latest kids craze) are basically rubber bands that hold shapes such as a cat, fairy princess or cartoon characters. This may sound like a silly idea, but there's nothing silly about the money they've brought in for creator and CEO Robert Croak. Croak's bandz have been banned from schools, featured on television newscasts and coveted by children everywhere. Even some celebrities are getting in on the act... not bad for a company that has never bought a single commercial and is only relying on social networking and word of mouth.

The Zany Report

Tuesday is once again upon which means it's time for another exciting episode of the best call-in, joke filled, news feature hosted by a stand-up comedian named Bob Zany, The Zany Report. But the Report isn't the only thing you'll get when Bob calls in, we'll also find out where he's playing next, Bing Crosby will tell a joke, and some lucky fan will win prizes after fixing one Zany's less than successful punch lines. So you'd better tune it because it's going to be huge! In other news, Bob was recently featured in the new Matt Damon film, The Informant! and he's got an all new "Wake Me if You're Horny" t-shirt for sale.

Easy For You To Say

Back in 1993, Costaki Economopoulos was a man divided. Part of him wanted spend his time honing his skills as a standup while his more practical side urged him to finish his work as a graduate student at the University of Georgia. For the most part, his practical side won out, but once he graduated, the comedian in him took over and Costaki put master's degree to good use by becoming a full-time comic. With his Greek heritage, it's not surprising that he's been described as a “joke philosopher,” and we're sure he's not the only one saying that. Costaki is also a talented joke writer who's punchlines have been heard on "The Tonight Show," BET, and MTV. In other news, he's recently released a new CD, The Economonologe, and he has a daughter with the beautiful and funny comedienne Caroline Rhea.

Theo Von is a big fan of colleges. He loves performing at them almost as much as he loved attending them. He had enough practice when he was younger, having attended over six in his academic career. Aside of seeing him on campus, you might have also seen Theo on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” season four, “Live at Gotham” and “Reality Bites Back.”

Doogie vs. America

Doogie Horner is a graphic designer turned stand-up comedian came into the national spotlight on the NBC summer reality show "America's Got Talent." He was the stand-up comedian that started getting booed before he even told his first joke. With some quick thinking and a few good barbs for people in the front row, Horner was able to turn the tables on the crowed and eventually get their support. Though he didn't win "AGT", he was named the fourth funniest comedian in Philadelphia by comedy.com and his writings have been featured in the McSweeney's Joke Book of Book Jokes.

Big Hands, Big Feet, Big Laughs

Though he didn’t begin his career as a standup comic, there is absolutely nothing that could ever make Alonzo Bodden give it up now. Once he took the stage and got a taste of what it was like to entertain, Bodden was hooked and has not looked back since. Before comedy, Alonzo was an airline mechanic, working on everything from Lear jets to Stealth Bombers. It was during one of his stints as a trainer that Alonzo found he could leave a crowd in stitches without even having to pick up a wrench. All he needed was a little motivation to turn his natural comedic talent into a career in standup. This came in the form of being fired. Since then, Bodden has been touring the country, as well as traveling around the globe with the USO. According to Alonzo, this means he is the only guy who’s both built bombers and performed for their pilots.

Greek Beauty

Named one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 2004, Maria Menounos is a former Miss Massachusetts Teen USA, was a correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight" and recently finished work on her own feature film Serial Buddies. Currently you can catch her most nights on "Access Hollywood" where she has covered everything from the red carpet to the most recent Olympic Games. This week, Maria will be going on some "Madcap Adventures" in which she'll leave her comfort zone and pursue actives she's only dreamed of.

FACTOID - While Maria may be beautiful, her actual trademark is her unique laugh, something she describes as a cross between Fran Drescher and Woody Woodpecker.

Talking Head

Sean Patton was born and raised in New Orleans, which is also where he cut his teeth doing stand up in the comedy. In 2008, Sean was featured as one of the “New Faces” at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, and has also been seen as a comedic regular on many of the VH1 “talking head” shows, on the 2009 season of Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, and he recently made his network TV debut on Late night with Jimmy Fallon. His big plans for the future are to continue sharing his comedy with the masses, and to one-day fall in love with you, the reader of this bio, whoever you are.

Hanky Panky

Jeff on Guitar

If you’ve never been down to the The Purple Rose Theatre for a "Live and Unplugged" show, you probably wouldn’t know that actor Jeff Daniels is also an accomplished musician. Though he’s been performing music for over 30 years, most people on know him from his roles in hit films like Terms of Endearment, Something Wild, The Hours and Dumb & Dumber. Jeff joined us in the studio a few years ago year when he released his album, Grandfather's Hat, and played a few of his favorite cuts. That's what we're hoping he'll do again now that he's back on the road, and promoting his new album Live at the Purple Rose Theatre.

At the Movies with Pat Dixon

Comedian Pat Dixon enjoys reviewing feature films, he just doesn't enjoy watching them. Luckily for him he's found a way to do one without out the other. Not only does this save him a ton of time and cash, it also keeps him completely unbiased when discussing each movie. Take that Ebert, Roeper and Shalit. In other news, Dixon is has a brand new comedy CD titled, Goodbye Forever Fatty that is also now available on iTunes.

For longer than we can remember comedian Tim Bedore has been calling in or stopping by to deliver an editorial in which he talks about whatever happens to be on his mind. These musings can range from his relationship with his daughter, to hot topics in the news, and even updates on how the animal kingdom is waging war on mankind. From the Animal Conspiracy to his daughter Claire, Tim takes us inside his mind, and with the help of a few sound effects, puts together one of our favorite features. Through a Dog's Eyes

Jennifer Arnold, founder and executive director of Canine Assistants, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing service dogs for people with disabilities, educates and inspires in this transformative guide to training and celebrating service animals. Bringing the Party Back to Late Night

Good and longtime friend of the show George Lopez spent six years living his dream of working in television, starring in the successful sitcom "George Lopez" on ABC. But now that its run is over and has moved on to syndication, George was able to set his sights on other projects, including a number of feature films and his newest gig hosting his own late night talk show, "Lopez Tonight." But this isn't your cookie cutter late night fare, George has ditched the desk, tossed the cue cards and brought the party back to late night on TBS. The show is part talk show, part spontaneous street party featuring many of the biggest names of today and tomorrow. But no matter what happens, as long as George is involved, you know it'll be the talk around the water cooler.

Over the past few years Carlos Mencia has become one of the most popular comedians in the country, due in large part to his presence on Comedy Central. With comedy specials, his own TV show, and numerous other appearances on the network, Carlos has become a household name. But don't think for a second that he's going to start taking it easy. When he's not at home with his wife and son, he is out on the road, back in the clubs doing what he loves.

Guitar Workoholic

You wouldn’t know it from listening to Warren Haynes play, but there was a time when he was much more into the Motown sound than guitar. It was only after being turned onto Eric Clapton by his older brothers that he picked up the six-string. Not long after discovering the pleasures of guitar playing, Warren found himself performing at local pizza parlors that had been converted into nightclubs. Haynes would go on to make a lot of friends in the industry, which led to him joining the Allman Brothers for eight very good years and five even better albums. Turns out that playing for just one band just isn’t enough for Mr. Haynes who went on to found the group Gov’t Mule, as well as release a few solo albums. Warren is currently a member of the Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh and Friends in addition to being the lead guitarist and vocalist for Gov’t Mule. Warren Haynes recently released a new live solo project titled Live at Bonnaroo and is currently out on tour with Gov't Mule.

A Canadian in Chicago

After deciding to leave the job he hated at a lead consulting firm, Derick Lengwenus first emerged onto the stand-up scene in Montreal back in 2000. Just one year later he was performing at the prestigious “Just For Laughs” Festival and was making people take notice. Since then Lengwenus has filmed his own one-hour comedy special, and earned a Canadian Comedy Award for nomination for “best newcomer.” Most recently, Derick placed third in the famous San Francisco Comedy Competition.

Donnie Baker Rocks!

For the first time ever, Donnie Baker and his band the Pork Pistols will rock out the performance studio live on the BOB&TOM Show. He and the band have performed at a few live shows on the Canadian Mist BOB&TOM Comedy All-Star Tour, but this on-air concert could be the breakthrough Donnie needs to achieve the superstardom he's alway craved, that is unless Randy finds out he's taken off work to do it. No word on if his boat or Mom Phillis will be in attendance.

What About Joe

Chosen College Comedian of the Year at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, Joe Larson was also nominated as best up-and-coming comedian at NYC’s MAC awards and was a finalist in this years prestigious Johnny Carson Great American Comedy Festival. Joe has also been featured on screen many times including TCN, Si TV and in the film “Stand-Up 360.”

Midnight Souvenirs

Peter Wolf, well known from his stint with J. Geils Band, recently released his seventh solo album, Midnight Souvenirs, which is his first since 2002’s lauded Sleepless. Featuring duets with country great Merle Haggard, indie heroine Neko Case, and Grammy Award winner Shelby Lynne, Midnight Souvenirs embraces rock, R&B, blues, folk and country in a way that has distinguished Wolf’s entire career.
