J. J. Abrams
Where No Director Has Gone BeforeOver the past few years, writer director and producer J.J. Abrams has taken audiences to mysterious islands (LOST), into the world of espionage (Alias), and showed us what it would be like to be in the middle New York City while it's being destroyed by a monster (Cloverfield), but now he's going where no director has dared go before, to the beginnings of Star Trek. With his newest feature film, Abrams is hoping to once again take sci-fi subject matter and turn it into a pop-culture phenomenon. In the new Star Trek, Abrams is rebooting the nearly 40-year old franchise by exploring the first years of Kirk, Spock and the rest of the USS Enterprise crew. Star Trek opens this Friday in theaters everywhere Tim Bedore
For longer than we can remember comedian Tim Bedore has been calling in or stopping by to deliver an editorial in which he talks about whatever happens to be on his mind. These musings can range from his relationship with his daughter, to hot topics in the news, and even updates on how the animal kingdom is waging war on mankind. From the Animal Conspiracy to his daughter Claire, Tim takes us inside his mind, and with the help of a few sound effects, puts together one of our favorite features. Follow Tim on Facebook. Duke Tumatoe
NFL action is in full swing and so too is Duke Tumatoe. He and the boys are back again on Wednesday to sing another edition of The NFL Song. Each week promises all new football action on Sunday which means Duke will constantly have something new to sing about. So stay tuned all season long as he keeps us up to speed on the ins and outs of the NFL. Remember, they're not booing, they're chanting DUKE DUKE DUKE! Costaki Economopoulos
Costaki Economopoulos is a comedian, true, but he's also a football fan. Those two factors alone make him the perfect candidate to give us a comedic look back at the NFL each week with his new feature that's also been picked up by The Huffington Post and Bleacher Report. With his Greek heritage, it's not surprising that he's been described as a “joke philosopher,” and we're sure he's not the only one saying that. Costaki is also a talented joke writer who's punchlines have been heard on "The Tonight Show," Showtime, BET, and MTV. Follow Costaki on facebook and twitter.
