Lady Willpower, It's Now or Never

For a few weeks now, Chick McGee has been randomly playing the songLady Willpower whenever he’s felt like it, which in turn has led to a number of listeners writing in wanting to know who sang that familiar song. We’ll, we’re happy to remind you that this tune was actually a huge hit by one of the biggest bands of the sixties, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap Band. For those who may not remember, or who weren’t alive back then, Puckett garnered six consecutive gold records in the late sixties, and the Union Gap Band was the top selling band of 1968. Some of their other hits include Young Girl, Woman Woman, This Girl is a Woman Now and Over You. Though the Union Gap Band was disbanded in the mid seventies, Gary Puckett has continues to perform around the world. And who knows, maybe we’ll even get him to perform a live version of Lady Willpower when he joins us in the studio on Tuesday.

Mike Birbiglia

Mike Birbiglia is not only a popular and successful stand-up comedian (currently on the "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" tour), he's also the star of the one-man off-Broadway show "Sleepwalk With Me," the author of the book, “Sleepwalk With Me And Other Painfully True Stories,” and the writer, star and director of the new film Sleepwalk with Me which was based on his one-man-show, which was based on his life. The film recently debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, where Mike won the Best Of NEXT audience award. The movie is now playing in theaters across the country. Mike is on twitter and facebook.
