Bill Scheft
A former stand-up comedian, Bill Scheft decided a number of years ago that he preferred writing the jokes to telling them. That's what's made him such a valuable asset to "The Late Show w/ David Letterman," where he's one of the head writers for Dave's famous opening monologues. He also contributed to the new book, The Late Show Fun Facts, authored by Letterman and the other Late Show writers. But this isn't Bill's only published work, he's also the author of three novels, The Ringer, Time Won't Let Me, and Everything Hurts which will be available in paperback on April 6th. His newest book is The Final Four of Everything. Check out Bill's band, The Truants. Follow Bill Scheft on twitter. And if you're a golf fan, you'll enjoy this book Bill put together of stories collected from his Uncle about The Masters. Bob Zany
It's time for another exciting episode of the best joke filled, news feature hosted by a stand-up comedian named Bob Zany, The Zany Report. But the Report isn't the only thing you'll get when Bob calls in, we'll also find out where he's playing next, Bing Crosby will tell a joke, and some lucky fan will win prizes after fixing one Zany's less than successful punch lines. So you'd better tune it because it's going to be huge! In other news, Bob was recently featured in the Matt Damon film, The Informant! and is the star of the new documentary Close But No Cigar: Bob Zany which you can find here and pre-order the 2-DVD set here. Follow Bob on Facebook and twitter. Bob also has a new Podcast, "The Bob Zany Show" with Zan Aufdeerheide. Drake Witham
Life After Workinga Real JobDrake Witham's comedy career began a little differently than most other comedians. While many standups begin at open mic nights, Witham got his start at an office Christmas party in a room filled with 200 co-workers. He treated the guests to impressions of their bosses and by making fun of his employer, The Dallas Morning News. But, once he noticed he’d reduced one of his editors to tears, and the execs found out about the routine, Drake decide it was time to leave his life as an award-winning journalist behind and head full force into comedy. This previous life as an office man has come in handy while performing on stage though, most of his material stems from those days of having a real job.
