Paul Shaffer
That's Right DaveMore than just a sidekick for David Letterman, world-renowned bandleader Paul Shaffer has done it all. He’s conducted a jam with Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Jeff Beck, served as the musical director of The Blues Bothers; enjoyed a quick chat with Prince Charles, learned the blues from Eric Clapton, and persuaded celebrities like Tina Fey, Nathan Lane, Bill Murray and Donald Trump to join in his James Brown cape ritual on Letterman’s show. Now, in his lively, entertaining, and laugh-out-loud memoir We'll Be Here for the Rest of Our Lives: A Swingin’ Show-Biz Saga, Paul Shaffer charts his rise from a music-rich childhood of Thunder Bay, Canada, to international fame as David Letterman’s musical director and sidekick for almost 30 years. Dan Grueter
When you're the youngest of eleven kids it's predestined that you're either going to turn out crazy or funny. Although in Dan Grueter's case, he turned out to be both. Grueter has been described as a comedian who's more well rounded than a urinal mint. While we're not quite sure how this comparison applies in any context, we do know that Dan is one of our favorites (comedians, not urinal mints). Grueter's made multiple appearances on B&T albums over the years, sharing stories from his life. For example, we've learned what it was like to sit through his never-ending Catholic wedding, how inept he is at interviewing for a job, and his alma-mater's love of college football. Jim Jefferies
Hailing from Australia, Jim Jefferies has truly become a world-wide headliner. Jim credits his quick rise to fame to his charming, Carlin-like storytelling. For three consecutive years, Jefferies performed to sold out theaters at the Edinburgh festival before killing the crowd with a ‘greatest hits performance’ of his favorite pieces. This led to his appearance at the Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival and his own HBO special, I Swear to God.
