It was a day of Rock & Roll legends on the BOB&TOM Show. KISS may be famous for classic rock, but that doesn't mean they can't still put out a kick ass album, and Gene Simmons called in to tell us all about it. We also got to talk to Eagles guitars Don Felder. Gene Simmons
The name Gene Simmons will forever conjure up images of the face painted, tongue-wagging, rock and roll demon from KISS. But considering the band is ranked among the greatest, most accomplished and well-known American rock bands in the world, we're sure he doesn't mind. But don't let the makeup fool you, there's a lot more to Mr. Simmons than you might think. He's also an accomplished actor, author, movie producer and entrepreneur. Simmons is the brains behind the Kiss Coffee House, KISS Comics, the hit film, Detroit Rock City, and star of the reality series "Gene Simmons Family Jewels." But all that aside, Gene still likes to rock, something he and his bandmates do on the new KISS album, Monster. Follow Gene on twitter. Don Felder
When guitarist Don Felder was asked to join the Eagles in 1974, he knew it was the opportunity of a lifetime, but he had no idea how musically thrilling, emotionally exhausting and surprising dangerous the road ahead actually was. And though The Eagles have been one of the biggest bands of the past few decades, they’ve also been one of the most tight lipped about what life in the band was actually like. That is until Don Felder decided to write and publish his new book Heaven And Hell: My Life in the Eagles. In the book, Felder describes his 27-year roller coaster ride with the legendary band, including all the drugs, groupies, breakups, music, court battles, and more that took place while selling tens of millions of albums and packing arenas around the world. And if you'd like to hear what Felder is doing now, check out his new album, Road to Forever.
