Excerpts from Dave Dyer’s “A Life I Could’ve Had…” – Scott

A Life I Could've Had Dave Dyer

An excerpt from Dave Dyer’s forthcoming fictional autobiography called “A Life I Could’ve Had…”

“To be honest, I don’t think I’d seen Scott since the wrap party for ‘Joanie Loves Chachi’. He looked good…no, he looked great. His eyes had a shine to them and his skin was smooth like the surface of a freshly opened jar of peanut butter before the first knife plunges in. He had the body of a panther and his burgundy sport coat hugged his torso like Saran Wrap on a cucumber. We made small talk for a few minutes and he seemed to be in a good place. I was happy. I knew he had had some rough years and there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a friend emerge from life’s challenges even stronger and healthier than before. I tossed him the keys to my 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage and asked that he please leave at least one parking space on either side of it so it wouldn’t get scratched. He smiled confidently and I assured him that he would be receiving a handsome gratuity that night. That’s how you treat old friends.”
